Zohar Lech Lecha

#109
Abraham went down to Egypt before he was commanded by God to do so. Because of that, his children were enslaved for four hundred years.

#110
And Abraham said unto Sarai, his wife “Indeed I know that you are a woman of beautiful appearance.” (Genesis 12:11)
The Zohar asks “Didn’t Abraham know that she was a beautiful woman before they came to Egypt? “ and explains that he didn’t look at his wife because of the modesty that was between them. And when he came near to Egypt she was revealed, and he saw her.
Rabbi Ashlag explains that when Abraham came close to Egypt, he got connected to the Light of Chokmah that continued to his wife. The eyesight has the aspect of Chokmah and because of that Abraham could see the beauty that was revealed from the illumination of Chokmah over the Chassadim of Sarah.

#111
Another explanation is that Sarah was always beautiful, and when Abraham elevated with the light of Chokmah, he could see the Shechina with Sarah, and because of that he said;
Genesis 12:13
“Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that I may live because of you.”
