#109
Genesis 28:10
“וַיֵּצֵא יַעֲקֹב מִבְּאֵר שָׁבַע וַיֵּלֶךְ חָרָנָה.”
“Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran.”
Psalm 106:3
“אַשְׁרֵי שֹׁמְרֵי מִשְׁפָּט עֹשֵׂה צְדָקָה בְכָל עֵת.”
“Blessed are those who keep justice, And he who does righteousness at all times!”

Rabbi Abba quotes the above verse and says, Blessed are the keepers of the laws, blessed are Israel, whom God has given them the Torah of truth to engage in day and night, for everyone who engages in the Torah has freedom from everything, freedom from death that can not control him, and as explained before that everyone who engages in the Torah and clings to it, adheres to the Tree of Life. And if he lets go of the Tree of Life, then the tree of death dwells with him and clings to him. And this is what is written;
Proverbs 24:10
“הִתְרַפִּיתָ בְּיוֹם צָרָה צַר כֹּחֶכָה.”
“If you faint on a day of adversity, Your strength is small.”
“you faint in the day” refers to letting go of the study of the Torah.

#110
The word “כֹּחֶכָה” “Your strength” has two words, “כח” and “כה.” The word “כח” means strength and “כה” is about the Shechina. Together they represent the strength of the Shechina in us. When a person’s connection to the Torah is weak, then the power of the Shechina on him is weak, and she doesn’t protect him.
The Shechina is always on the Right and always guards the one who walks the ways of the Torah. Also, keep evil away from approaching and influence negativity on him. When one is inclined from the ways of the Torah, then the power of “כה,” the Shechina, is weakened, and the evil, which is left, rules over man.
That situation causes the man to reject “כה,” that is, the Shechinah, to distance himself from him until he is in a state of stress because he is without the Torah, he is in a small and narrow place.

Lesson;
The studies of the Torah strengthen power and personal motivation. They feed and fill our vessels with Light that supports us where and when we need it the most.
Jacob left the safety of his home to go to a place where there is no Torah. On his way to his uncle, he passed through the spiritual point that is the ‘Gate of Heavens’ (Genesis 28:17). It is the place where the Holy Temple was built later. He had the famous dream with the angels going up and down (Genesis 28:12).
Then Jacob stopped for 14 years to study Torah in the Yeshiva of Shem (שם) and the Yeshiva of Ever (עבר). He needed all the possible support before going into the “Snake’s den” that is Haran and living with his uncle for 20 years. Seven years for Rachel, but he was cheated when he received Leah instead. Then for seven more years, he worked to marry Rachel. Six more years, he works for pay.
The merit of his studies gave him the power to stay pure and complete while working in the house of Lavan.
After he was separated from Lavan, meaning he passed the test of dealing with the negative side, he was elevated and could see angels (Genesis 32:2). “And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.”
The first time he saw them in a dream, and after years of following the path of the Torah, he could see the angels. The Torah and the Zohar that teach us the Torah’s deeper levels can bring us closer to having angels protecting us.

This ‘card’ below is for protection. It comes mainly from the Torah portions related to Jacob.

The top two verses are from Genesis 32:2-3
“Now, as Jacob went on his way, the angels of God met him.”
“When Jacob saw them, he said, “This is God’s camp.” And he called the name of that place Mahanaim.”

Genesis 49:18 (from the blessings Jacob gave o his sons).
“I await Your salvation, O YHVH.”

Last verse from Exodus 23:20, (Hashem promise support to Israel on their way to the promised Land).
“Behold, I send an angel before you to keep you on the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.”
