Daily Zohar # 3276 – Teruma – One night, two parts

Zohar Teruma

Isaiah 21:11
“The burden against Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, “Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?”
The ‘Watchman’ is the archangel Metat-. The word ‘night’ appears twice, one as ‘ליל’ and the other as ‘לילה’. The meaning of both is the same as they are related to the period of darkness. The difference is that ‘ליל’ is a reference to the darkness phase from its beginning until midnight. The other-side is in control during the first half of the night and we need the protection of the ‘Watchman’.
Exodus 12:29
“And it came to pass at midnight that YHVH struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,…”
After midnight we don’t need protection because the light begins to be revealed in the spiritual vessels. It grows in the process until it becomes visible at dawn and fully revealed at sunrise. For that reason, this period of the night is named ‘לילה’. The last ‘ה’ of ‘לילה’ represents the light that is revealed in Malchut.
Psalms 139:12
“Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night (לַיְלָה) shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.”
Proverbs 27:18
“Whoever keeps the fig tree will eat its fruit; So he who watches (שֹׁמֵר) on his master will be honored.”

Isaiah 21:12
“The watchman said, “The morning comes, and also the night. If you will Inquire, inquire; Return! Come back!”
The Zohar explains the difference between ‘וַיֹּאמֶר’, ‘said’ as in “and God said” and ‘אָמַר’ ‘He Said’. The first is the upper that is Zeir Anpin and the second ‘He said’ is lower, implies to the ‘watchman’ that is the angel Metat-.
‘The morning comes’ is the morning prayer that governs the day. ‘And also the night (לָיְלָה)’ to tell us that the second part of the night is connected to the morning as one
Lesson;
In many places of the Zohar, we learn about the great value of waking up after midnight to study and connect to the light that increases its presence in the world.
When we connect to the Light of the day at its beginning, we have a stronger connection to the Light of Chassadim that helps us control the day. Successful people wake up early and start the day with positive actions. We start the day with a connection to Chassadim of the day with our special prayers.
In the next study, I bring some ‘tools’ for a better morning connection.
