Zohar Shemini
#110
Isaiah 49:3
“And He said to me, ‘You are My servant, O Israel, In whom I will be glorified.’
The Holy One Blessed be He chose the Israelites to be his servants to reveal his Light in the world. For this reason, he asks us to be pure and holy.
Leviticus 11:44
“For I am YHVH your God. You shall, therefore, consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
The Israelites follow the ways of the Torah and are considered to have the ‘Image’ of YHVH that is the Tree of Life. This image and its light represent the blessings they receive from YHVH. It gives them unique spiritual energy that distinguishes them from the nations of the world.
Isaiah 61:9
“Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, And their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them, That they are the posterity whom YHVH has blessed.”

Those who eat forbidden food connect themselves to the other side and draw impure spirit upon themselves. The image of YHVH is removed from them and they are despised in this world and the world to come.
Lesson;
The word ‘Kosher’ ‘כשר’ is properly translated to ‘proper’ and ‘fit’ to tell us the purpose of the dietary laws in the Torah. Everything we eat has a certain energy and it affects our spiritual state. While the Nutrition Fact’s label on the food may tell about the nutritional value of our corporeal body, it doesn’t reveal the spiritual impact of the food on our souls.
Most of the world eats non-kosher food and on the surface, we don’t see a difference between them and Kosher eating people. There are many wonderful and righteous people from other nations. The difference is about having a vessel/body that is able to hold greater Light and achieve higher spiritual levels.
A clue about having a spiritual connection between food and soul is the fact that some people have strong and negative reactions to some foods even if the ‘nutrition facts’ is perfect for all humans.
The laws of Kosher eating is a guide to have a purer body to achieve a higher spiritual state.
Eating a meal of fresh vegetables and fruits brings great life energy to the body while eating a meal based on animal meat can be heavy and requires a long digestion process that takes away from our physical energy.
During illness and physical weakness it’s better to eat small meals based on fresh vegetables and fruits (raw, steamed or as a shake).
When you go to a food market, whatever you see and eat immediately has greater ‘Life’ energy than other kinds of processed food.
