Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -348.

Tikkun 21 – 89

Genesis 27:4 “וַעֲשֵׂה-לִי מַטְעַמִּים כַּאֲשֶׁר אָהַבְתִּי, וְהָבִיאָה לִּי–וְאֹכֵלָה: בַּעֲבוּר תְּבָרֶכְךָ נַפְשִׁי, בְּטֶרֶם אָמוּת”
“and make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless you before I die.”

Isaac sends his first son to prepare for a higher connection with him. A connection of love in order to channel his blessings to him.

The Zohar explains that מַטְעַמִּים, which on the simple level means savory food, is a connection to the 248 positive precepts of he Torah. Rabbi Brandwein explains that this is the light of Chassadim. The other 365 precepts of “You shall not do” have the purpose of avoiding negativity. These can not be used as connection to the light.

Rebekah heard her husband asking Esau to prepare for him ‘Savory food’ and knew immediately that only Jacob could be a channel for his father’s blessings. She immediately prepared him for the process.

Isaiah 42:8 “אֲנִי יְהוָה, הוּא שְׁמִי; וּכְבוֹדִי לְאַחֵר לֹא-אֶתֵּן, וּתְהִלָּתִי לַפְּסִילִים”
“I am YHVH, that is My name; and My I will not give my Glory to another, neither My praise to idols”

God is telling us through Isaiah that his light is designed to work with the pure system.

Malachi 1:2
“ אָהַבְתִּי אֶתְכֶם אָמַר יְהוָה, וַאֲמַרְתֶּם בַּמָּה אֲהַבְתָּנוּ; הֲלוֹא-אָח עֵשָׂו לְיַעֲקֹב נְאֻם-יְהוָה, וָאֹהַב אֶת-יַעֲקֹב”
“I have loved you, said YHVH. Yet you say: ‘Where is your love for us?’ Was not Esau Jacob’s brother? Said YHVH yet I loved Jacob”

Malachi 1:3
“וְאֶת-עֵשָׂו, שָׂנֵאתִי; וָאָשִׂים אֶת-הָרָיו שְׁמָמָה, וְאֶת-נַחֲלָתוֹ לְתַנּוֹת מִדְבָּר”
“But I hated Esau, and made his mountains desolation, and gave his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.”

Love is the ultimate connection to YHVH, which is the pure spiritual system. Esau expressed hate and selfishness and that is what caused his distance from YHVH. The word hate in Hebrew שנא is from the same root as ‘difference’ שונה.

The first rule of connection to the Light is love and doing good. Avoiding negativity may keep us safe but to be with the Light we need to express love and act upon it. We should not just say “I Love You”, we should behave and act with love.
