Daily Zohar # 3622 – Tazria – Be ‘Adam’

Zohar Tazria
#106
Man has four names for four different levels; אדם Adam, Gever גבר, Enosh אנוש, Ish. The name ‘Adam’ is on the highest level, as it is written, Genesis 1:27
“So God created man (Adam) in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
The other names are not mentioned when man was created.
Rabbi Yitzchak says that those who sin put themselves on a lower level and need to bring offerings to YHVH, yet the verse mentions the name ‘Adam’.
Leviticus 1:2
“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When any man (Adam) of you brings an offering to YHVH, you shall bring your offering of the livestock—of the herd and of the flock.”

Rabbi Yitzchak explains that the worlds above and below are sustained by the offerings and sacrifices that please the Holy One Blessed be He. ‘Adam’ is the level that is worthy to come closer and please him because ‘Adam’ is more precious than Gever, Enosh, or Ish.
It is also said that a man (Adam) who has leprosy on his skin, would be brought to the priest.
Leviticus 13:2
“When a man (Adam) has on the skin of his body a swelling, a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes on the skin of his body like a leprous sore, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests.”
Because ‘Adam’ is on a higher level, the Holy One Blessed be He, wishes to purify him more than others, so he is brought to the priest for purification.
