Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -3786

Hebrew translation:

96. וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ אַנְשֵׁי הַמָּקוֹם לְאִשְׁתּוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲחֹתִי הִיא, כְּמוֹ שֶׁאָמַר אַבְרָהָם, מִשּׁוּם שֶׁשְּׁכִינָה הָיְתָה עִמּוֹ וְעִם אִשְׁתּוֹ, וּבִשְׁבִיל הַשְּׁכִינָה הוּא אָמַר, שֶׁכָּתוּב (משלי ז) אֱמֹר לַחָכְמָה אֲחֹתִי אָתְּ, וְעַל כֵּן הִתְחַזֵּק וְאָמַר אֲחֹתִי הִיא. עוֹד, אַבְרָהָם וְיִצְחָק כָּךְ רָאוּי, שֶׁוַּדַּאי מִשּׁוּם הַפָּסוּק שֶׁכָּתוּב (שיר ה) אֲחֹתִי רַעְיָתִי יוֹנָתִי תַּמָּתִי, וּמִשּׁוּם כָּךְ וַדַּאי נִרְאֶה לָהֶם לוֹמַר אֲחֹתִי הִיא, וְעַל כֵּן מִתְחֲזְקִים הַצַּדִּיקִים בַּקָּבָּ”ה.

97. וַיְהִי כִּי אָרְכוּ לוֹ שָׁם הַיָּמִים וְגוֹ’. אֵת רִבְקָה אִשְׁתּוֹ – דַּוְקָא, [וְזוֹ הַשְּׁכִינָה. כְּמוֹ שֶׁעֲבוֹדָה זָרָה כָּתוּב בָּהּ וַיָּקוּמוּ לְצַחֵק, כָּךְ גַּם מְצַחֵק אֵת] זוֹ שְׁכִינָה שֶׁהָיְתָה עִם רִבְקָה. דָּבָר אַחֵר, וְכִי תַעֲלֶה עַל דַּעְתְּךָ שֶׁיִּצְחָק הָיָה מְשַׁמֵּשׁ מִטָּתוֹ בַּיּוֹם? שֶׁהֲרֵי שָׁנִינוּ, יִשְׂרָאֵל הֵם קְדוֹשִׁים וְלֹא מְשַׁמְּשִׁים מִטָּתָם בַּיּוֹם, וְיִצְחָק שֶׁהָיָה קָדוֹשׁ הָיָה מְשַׁמֵּשׁ מִטָּתוֹ בַּיּוֹם?.

Genesis 26:7
“וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ אַנְשֵׁי הַמָּקוֹם לְאִשְׁתּוֹ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲחֹתִי הִוא כִּי יָרֵא לֵאמֹר אִשְׁתִּי פֶּן יַהַרְגֻנִי אַנְשֵׁי הַמָּקוֹם עַל רִבְקָה כִּי טוֹבַת מַרְאֶה הִיא.”
“And the men of the place asked about his wife. And he said, “She is my sister”; for he was afraid to say, “She is my wife,” because he thought, “lest the men of the place kill me for Rebekah because she is beautiful to behold.”
Isaac, like Abraham, his father referred to his wife as his sister. The Shechina is also called ‘Sister’ so they didn’t lie because the Schechina was with them.
Songs 5:2
“אֲנִי יְשֵׁנָה וְלִבִּי עֵר קוֹל דּוֹדִי דוֹפֵק פִּתְחִי לִי אֲחֹתִי רַעְיָתִי יוֹנָתִי תַמָּתִי שֶׁרֹּאשִׁי נִמְלָא טָל קְוֻצּוֹתַי רְסִיסֵי לָיְלָה.”
“I sleep, but my heart is awake; It is the voice of my beloved! He knocks, saying, “Open for me, my sister, my love, My dove, my perfect one; For my head is covered with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.”
This verse was said by Zeir Anpin to the Shechina. Abraham and Isaac were chariots for Zeir Anpin, and they were worthy to call the Shechina ‘Sister’.
The Tzadikim get strength and support from the Holy One Blessed be He because they dedicate themselves to be chariots for the Light in this world.

Genesis 26:8
“וַיְהִי כִּי אָרְכוּ לוֹ שָׁם הַיָּמִים וַיַּשְׁקֵף אֲבִימֶלֶךְ מֶלֶךְ פְּלִשְׁתִּים בְּעַד הַחַלּוֹן וַיַּרְא וְהִנֵּה יִצְחָק מְצַחֵק אֵת רִבְקָה אִשְׁתּוֹ.”
“Now it came to pass when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech, king of the Philistines, looked through a window and saw, and there was Isaac, showing endearment to Rebekah, his wife.”
“With Rebekah, his wife” suggests that Isaac was with the Shechina. The Zohar says that Israel is Holy and Isaac was Holy and it is unreasonable to think that Isaac engaged with his wife in love acts during the day.

Lesson;
The Zohar explains in the next Zohar paragraph that Abimelech used a ‘window’, which is a reference to the wisdom of Astrology. He saw that Isaac is on a high spiritual level and gave him honor protection.
Making love is a high spiritual connection that brings blessings and pleasures from the level of Da’at. Da’at is a concealed level and for that reason, a couple should not make love during the day, or when there is light in the room. The main reason is to keep the unification as pure as possible without focusing on the physical. Locking lips should not be about the sweetness of the kiss but about becoming one, considering the husband as a channel and the woman as a vessel that manifests the blessings that the unification draws.
The light and the visual may set focus on the flesh rather than the spiritual. It may trigger thoughts that are not proper for the moment and disconnect the important spiritual connection.
The sages tell us when to avoid having sex and have elevated connections. 1. Both should agree 2. Not when a man hates his wife, even if he loves her most of the time. 3. The woman should be in a pure state (7 pure days after period ends) 5. When the man or the woman has thoughts about sex with another. 6. Drunk 7. Not when a man is having thoughts of divorcing his wife 8. Not when the woman asks to do it for pure physical pleasure 9. Not when the woman is sleeping.
Most people are not on the level of righteousness to follow all the restrictions above but we need to understand that since unification is a great opportunity to draw blessings, it would be better for us to do our best and make love with pure consciousness and pure body.
My advice is to schedule ‘dates’ so when the time comes to enter the darkroom, both are ready on all levels for the blessed connection.
The best time is Friday night and the couple has the intention to have children, after midnight on Friday when the light of Chassadim from Binah begins to reveal.
