Daily Zohar # 4127 – Vayeshev – Accepting ‘painments’
Daily Zohar 4127

“And she put the skins of the kids of the goats on his hands and on the smooth part of his neck.”
Because of what Rebecca did with Jacob, it says that Jacob’s sons “dipped the tunic in the blood” to weaken him, parallel to his past actions. He caused it as it is written; “וַיֶּחֱרַד יִצְחָק חֲרָדָה גְּדֹלָה עַד מְאֹד” “Then Isaac trembled exceedingly”.
Because of this, his sons caused him to experience fear and tremble. At that time, it is written;
Genesis 37:33
“Then they sent the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not?”

Genesis 27:21
“Isaac said to Jacob, “Please come near, that I may feel you, my son, whether you are really my son Esau or not.”
Rabbi Chiya said the question was repeated when the sons asked Jacob, “Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not?”. It is because the Holy One, Blessed be He, is strict with the Tzadikim in everything they do.

Rabbi Aba said, Since all the tribes (Jacob’s sons) saw their father’s sorrow, they must have regretted selling Joseph and given their souls for Joseph to redeem him if they could find him. Since they saw that they could not find him, they returned to Yehuda, who previously advised them to sell Joseph, and removed him from his position because he was their king. Because of that, we read in the next chapter; “וַיְהִי בָּעֵת הַהִוא וַיֵּרֶד יְהוּדָה” “It happened at that time that Judah went down…” (Genesis 38:1)
Lesson;
Our actions registered above and all the wrongs, big or small, must be corrected in one way or another, in this life or the next. Since Jacob had only small things, he had corrections in his lifetime.
If not identified and connected to a sin we made in this lifetime, the pain we experience is most likely carried from previous lives. We accept the ‘painment’ and stay with the Light until we are thoroughly cleansed, in this lifetime or the next.
Friday would be a good day, and significantly significant during the month of Kislev to make a ** Donation, and support the Daily Zohar projects, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, an aspect of Yessod expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
** Your donation doesn’t have to be given to the same place every week. You can alternate or split your donation among those who benefit you spiritually.
