If the breaking up of the affected houses was only to find treasures, then the stones should have been returned to their place as they were, and the dirt (עפר) should also have been returned to its place. But it is written, “take away the stones”;
Leviticus 14:40
“Then the priest shall command that they take away the stones in which is the plague, and they shall cast them into an unclean place outside the city.”
Leviticus 14:42
“Then they shall take other stones and put them in the place of those stones, and he shall take other mortar and plaster the house.”
They take other stones in order to remove and clear the spirit of impurity, and the land will now be sanctified as before, and Israel will be found in holiness and in a holy dwelling so that the Shechina will reign among them.

And therefore whoever builds a building, when he begins to build it, should say with his mouth that he is building it for the service of the Holy One, Blessed be He because it is written;
Jeremiah 22:13
“Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness And his chambers by injustice, Who uses his neighbor’s service without wages And gives him nothing for his work,”
Then the help of heaven comes upon him, upon his house, and the Holy One Blessed be He bestows his holiness upon him and brings upon him peace as it is written in Job 5:24
“You shall know that your tent is in peace; You shall command your dwelling, and you will not sin.”
The words in the verse, “You shall command your dwelling,” means to say words to dedicate the house to Hashem while building it as above. “and you will not sin” means that if we don’t follow the above, the other side will come to reign in the house instead of the Shechina.
Lesson;
Psalm 127:1
”A Song of Ascents. Of Solomon. Unless YHVH builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless YHVH guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.”
Our homes are part of our individual vessels, so as we make personal connections to draw light into our lives, we should dedicate the home to serving Hashem. In our home, we have sacred books, study Torah, and avoid any aspect of negativity that could draw judgments from the other side.
We should treat our home as our bodies, be clean with Light, and always have Hashem in our minds. Hashem is Light, and when we have Light in and around us, darkness cannot enter.
