Tikkun 21 – 173
Deuteronomy 17:15
“ שׂוֹם תָּשִׂים עָלֶיךָ מֶלֶךְ, אֲשֶׁר יִבְחַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בּוֹ”
“You shall set a king over you, whom YHVH your God shall choose”
The Shechina is the queen and the aspect of Malchut, which literally means ‘kingdom’.
When the Shechina is in exile or negativity, which is the lowest level, servant of the queen takes control over Malchut and the king can not connect to his queen. A king without kingdom can not be considered as king.
The precept of “make yourself a king” relates to our daily connection and to the final redemption.
With our daily connection we connect upper and lower and by that we ‘crown’ the king over Malchut. The king then can bestow his beneficent over his subjects.
The two Tefilin, phylacteries, symbolize the separation between the king and the queen. When a man wears the Tefilin he makes the connection of the Shema prayer and binds upper and lower levels. The Tefilin of the head is the aspect of the upper levels, the King and the Tefilin of the hand is the aspect of Malchut.
The Tefilin of Head has four chambers for four small scrolls of text from the Torah (Shema Yisrael) and is the aspect of the YHVH. The whole unit is made from one piece of rawhide folded to create the four chambers and to symbolize the illusion of separation.
The Tefilin of Hand has only one chamber with one scroll that tells about the precept of the Tefilin action and the getting out of exile (Egypt).
There are many secrets in the spiritual connection of the Tefilin but the main aspect is to connect YHVH to Malchut as one. This will bring the king, YHVH, to its kingdom, Malchut and the Shechina and break all separation to have continuous light in Malchut. This is correct for the daily aspect of the precept and for the world correction at the same time.
