Zohar Tazria

Rabbi Elazar said that a person’s actions need to be for His Holy Name. What does it mean for His Holy Name? It means that one should mention with his mouth the Holy Name in all that he does, that everything should be for His service, and the Other Side (Sitra Achra) will not dwell upon him because the Sitra Achra is always ready for people, and it can dwell upon that act that he does. Therefore, if he ate or drank something impure, the spirit of impurity would dwell upon him. And how much more so, one who directs his words to the Sitra Achra, that is, in oaths and the like, when he does not need to do so, all the more so, the spirit of impurity would dwell upon him. For this reason, it is written,
Deuteronomy 23:10
“כִּי תֵצֵא מַחֲנֶה עַל אֹיְבֶיךָ וְנִשְׁמַרְתָּ מִכֹּל דָּבָר רָע.”
“When the army goes out against your enemies, keep yourself from every wicked thing.”
