Regarding Joshua, whose face was like the face of the moon, it is written, “שַׁל נַעַלְךָ” “Take off your shoes.” (Joshua 5:15) He did not separate from his wife except at specific times for prophecy, as the Shechina did not dwell with him as much and he was not as worthy. As it is written, “וַיִּפֹּל יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל פָּנָיו אַרְצָה” “And Joshua fell on his face to the earth” (Joshua 5:14). But here, it is undoubtedly “the bride of Moses.” “מַתָּנוֹת בָּאָדָם” “Gifts among men” (Psalms 68:19) is written as “מתנת” without a vav, indicating singularity, referring to the Shechina, who is unique. Blessed is the portion of Moses, whose Master wished to honor him above all people in the world.

Notes:
Joshua’s connection with the Shechina was different from that of Moses. Joshua separated from his wife only at specific times for prophecy, indicating a more limited interaction with the Shechina. In contrast, Moses had a unique and constant connection with the Shechina, symbolized by the term “the bride of Moses.”
Moses received special honor and favor from Hashem, highlighting his exceptional status among all people.

Numbers 7:11
“וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל מֹשֶׁה נָשִׂיא אֶחָד לַיּוֹם נָשִׂיא אֶחָד לַיּוֹם יַקְרִיבוּ אֶת קָרְבָּנָם לַחֲנֻכַּת הַמִּזְבֵּחַ.”
“For the LORD said to Moses, “They shall offer their offering, one leader each day, for the dedication of the altar.”
He asks, “What does ‘for each day’ mean?” Rabbi Yehuda answered, “These are the days above that are initiated to be blessed. They are the twelve boundaries, meaning Chessed, Gevurah, Tiferet, and Malchut each have three lines, which are the twelve boundaries. Each is prepared and initiated with a blessing by the twelve leaders below. Each leader connected to one day. We have learned that all are blessed because of the altar above, Binah. Even the lower world and the nations of the world are blessed.”

Rabbi Shimon said, “We have learned that If these twelve leaders (נשיאים) had not offered their sacrifices, the world would not have been able to stand before the twelve leaders of Ishmael, as it is written,
Genesis 25:16
“אֵלֶּה הֵם בְּנֵי יִשְׁמָעֵאל וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמֹתָם בְּחַצְרֵיהֶם וּבְטִירֹתָם שְׁנֵים עָשָׂר נְשִׂיאִם לְאֻמֹּתָם.”
“These were the sons of Ishmael, and these were their names. They were by their towns and settlements, twelve princes according to their nations.”
Once the twelve leaders of Israel offered their sacrifices, the dominion was taken away from all of them. Therefore, one leader for each day.”

Notes:
The sequential offerings, one leader (נשיא) per day, ensured that order and protection were maintained, neutralizing any spiritual threat from Ishmael’s leaders. Even though the twelve leaders brought identical offerings, it was necessary to list them because each was connected to a different line in the Tree of Life, ensuring complete control and eliminating any other spiritual influence from the other side.
