Zohar Vayikra
Continued from previous DZ
#202
One who has the merit to rise at midnight to study Torah—the Holy One, Blessed be He, listens to him. As we have already established, it is written:
“הַיּוֹשֶׁבֶת בַּגַּנִּים חֲבֵרִים מַקְשִׁיבִים לְקוֹלֵךְ הַשְׁמִיעִנִי” “You who sit in the gardens, companions listen for your voice; let Me hear it” (Song of Songs 8:13). And all that heavenly host, and all the masters of praise, who sing songs to their Master—all fall silent, in honor of the praises and words of those who are engaged in Torah study. And a heavenly voice proclaims and says:
“הִנֵּה בָּרְכוּ אֶת ה’ כָּל עַבְדֵי ה’” “Behold, bless Hashem, all you servants of Hashem…” (Psalms 134:1) You, who are engaged in the Torah—Bless Hashem! You—Praise the Holy King! You—Crown the King with your learning!
#203
And that doe, which is the Shechinah (Malchut), adorns herself with that person and stands before the King, and says: “See with which son I have come before You, with which son I have awakened toward You. And who are those whose praises are all directed to the King.” Then he (the verse) returns and says: “הָעוֹמְדִים בְּבֵית ה’ בַּלֵּילוֹת” “Those who stand in the House of Hashem at night” (Psalms 134:1). These are the ones called the “עַבְדֵי ה'” “servants of Hashem.” These are the ones worthy to bless the King. And their blessing is truly a blessing. As it is said: “שְׂאוּ יְדֵיכֶם קֹדֶשׁ וּבָרְכוּ אֶת ה'” “Lift up your hands in holiness and bless Hashem…” (Psalms 134:2). You are worthy that the Holy King be blessed through you, and the blessing that comes through you is a true blessing.
Notes:
When a person learns Torah at midnight, the Shechinah elevates with him and appears before Hashem adorned by his merit. These souls are called true servants of Hashem, and their blessings hold spiritual power—they elevate and bless the King Himself. The praises and blessings of such individuals are real, they sweeten the world, unify the Divine, and awaken the higher realms.
This passage highlights the deep partnership between the soul and the Shechinah. The person who rises in the night for Torah becomes the crown of Malchut, and through him, the Holy King is praised, blessed, and uplifted.
