246. וְיִשְׂרָאֵל יִהְיוּ כָּל עֵץ נֶחְמָד לְמַרְאֶה, וְיַחֲזֹר עֲלֵיהֶם יֹפִי, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר בּוֹ (איכה ב) הִשְׁלִיךְ מִשָּׁמַיִם אֶרֶץ תִּפְאֶרֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל. וְעֵץ הַדַּעַת טוֹב וָרָע נִדְחִים מֵהֶם, וְלֹא מִתְדַּבְּקִים וְלֹא מִתְעָרְבִים בָּהֶם, שֶׁהֲרֵי נֶאֱמַר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל וּמֵעֵץ הַדַּעַת טוֹב וָרָע לֹא תֹאכַל מִמֶּנּוּ, שֶׁהֵם עֵרֶב רַב. וְגִלָּה לָהֶם הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא, שֶׁבְּיוֹם אָכְלוֹ מִמֶּנּוּ, גָּרְמוּ שֶׁאִבְּדוּ שְׁתֵּי אֲבֵדוֹת, שֶׁהֵם בַּיִת רִאשׁוֹן וּבַיִת שֵׁנִי. זֶהוּ כִּי בְּיוֹם אֲכָלְךָ מִמֶּנּוּ מוֹת תָּמוּת, פַּעֲמַיִם. וְהֵם שֶׁגָּרְמוּ שֶׁצַּדִּיק יֶחֱרַב וְיָבֵשׁ בְּבַיִת רִאשׁוֹן, שֶׁהִיא שְׁכִינָה עֶלְיוֹנָה, וּבְבַיִת שֵׁנִי, שֶׁהִיא שְׁכִינָה תַחְתּוֹנָה. זֶהוּ (ישעיה יט) וְנָהָר יֶחֱרַב וְיָבֵשׁ. וְנָהָר זֶה יֶחֱרַב בְּה’ תַּחְתּוֹנָה, בִּגְלַל שֶׁתִּסְתַּלֵּק מִמֶּנוּ שֶׁפַע הַי’ לְאֵין סוֹף.
247. וּמִיָּד כְּשֶׁיָּצְאוּ יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵהַגָּלוּת, הָעָם הַקָּדוֹשׁ לְחוּד, מִיָּד נָהָר שֶׁהָיָה חָרֵב וְיָבֵשׁ נֶאֱמַר בּוֹ וְנָהָר יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן, זֶה ו’, לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן. וְנָהָר – זֶה הָעַמּוּד הָאֶמְצָעִי. יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן – זוֹ אִמָּא הָעֶלְיוֹנָה. לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן – זוֹ שְׁכִינָה תַחְתּוֹנָה.

And the people of Israel will be in the state of the verse: “כָּל־עֵץ נֶחְמָד לְמַרְאֶה” “Every tree that is pleasant to the sight” (Bereshit 2:9), and they will return and regain that Tiferet (beauty) which they lost at the destruction of the Temple, as it is said: “הִשְׁלִיךְ מִשָּׁמַיִם אֶרֶץ תִּפְאֶרֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל” “He cast down from heaven to earth the beauty of Israel” (Eicha 2:1). And the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil will be separated and cast away from Israel, and they will no longer cling to it nor be mixed with it. For then it will be said to Israel: “וּמֵעֵץ הַדַּעַת טוֹב וָרָע לֹא תֹאכַל מִמֶּנּוּ” “But from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, you shall not eat from it” (Genesis 2:17), which refers to the Erev Rav (Mixed Multitude).
That is, at that time, Hashem will reveal to Israel that on the day they ate from the Tree of Knowledge, they caused two losses: the destruction of both Temples. This is what is meant by: “בְּיוֹם אֲכָלְךָ מִמֶּנּוּ מוֹת תָּמוּת” “On the day you eat from it, you shall surely die” (Genesis 2:17) – the double mention of death refers to the two destructions of the First and Second Temples. And this revelation that Hashem will show to Israel is considered as though He tells them again not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, just as He said to Adam. By eating from the Tree of Knowledge, they caused the Tzaddik (Yessod, who bestows to the Shechinah) to be destroyed and dried up in both the First Temple and Second Temple, which are the Upper Shechinah and Lower Shechinah, respectively. And about this it is written: “וְנָהָר יֶחֱרַב וְיָבֵשׁ” “And the river shall dry up and be parched” (Isaiah 19:5), meaning that the river, Zeir Anpin, will be destroyed in the lower ה, his feminine counterpart (the Shechinah), because the flow from Yud (י) to the first Hey (ה)—the divine flood from the Endless—is cut off.
Notes:
In the future redemption, Israel will regain its lost divine beauty (Tiferet). The Tree of Knowledge, symbolizing the Erev Rav and the source of confusion and destruction, will be completely removed from them. They will understand that the sin of the Tree of Knowledge led to the destruction of both Temples, and Hashem will “reissue” His command not to partake of it, spiritually renewing the separation from impurity.
Once this separation is complete, divine flow will resume without interruption, and the spiritual structures (Yessod, Zeir Anpin, and the Shechinah) will once again be united and nourished, restoring holiness to its full glory.

And immediately when Israel will go out from exile, as a holy nation unto itself—meaning the Erev Rav (Mixed Multitude) will be separated from them—then, that river which was dry and parched during exile will be renewed, as it is said: “וְנָהָר יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן” “And a river went out of Eden to water the garden” (Genesis 2:10). “River” refers to the Middle Column (Zeir Anpin), which is called a river. “From Eden” refers to Supernal Mother (Binah), called Eden, from which Zeir Anpin receives its flow. “To water the garden” refers to the lower Shechinah, called the garden, to whom Zeir Anpin will now bestow abundance.
Notes:
Once Israel is redeemed and separated from impurity, the full spiritual flow of divine consciousness will be restored. The Zohar’s imagery—a river flowing from Eden to water the garden—depicts the Middle Column (Zeir Anpin) receiving from Binah (Eden) and nourishing the Shechinah (garden).
This signals a permanent end to spiritual dryness and a complete return to divine harmony, unity, and abundance.
