Daily Zohar # 5025 – Vayeshev – The inheritance of YHVH
Daily Zohar 5025

And therefore it is written: “בַּבֹּקֶר זְרַע אֶת זַרְעֲךָ וְלָעֶרֶב אַל תַּנַּח יָדֶךָ”, “In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening do not withhold your hand” (Ecclesiastes 11:6). Even in the days of old age, called evening, when the person is old. What is written? “אַל תַּנַּח יָדֶךָ”, “do not withhold your hand” — he should not cease from having children in this world. What is the reason? It is because you do not know which one will be successful, this one or that one, before God, that is, who will defend him in the world of truth.
Notes:
Even in old age (עֶרֶב), one must persist (אַל תַּנַּח יָדֶךָ) in having children, as one cannot know which will merit defending the parent in the world to come. This underscores the eternal value of offspring in spiritual legacy.

And therefore it is written: “הֵנָּה נַחֲלַת ה’ בָּנִים”, “Behold, the inheritance of YHVH are children” (Psalms 127:3).
This is the bundle of life of the soul, in the secret of “וְהָיְתָה נַפְשֹׁ אֲדֹנִי צְרוּרָה בְּצְרוֹר הַחַיִּים”, “And the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life” (1 Samuel 25:29), which is the aspect of the world to come. And for this, the verse calls it an inheritance. Who merits bringing the person to this inheritance of YHVH, children? The children merit it for him to the inheritance of YHVH. And therefore, happy is the person who merited children, that he teaches them the ways of the Torah, as we have learned.
Notes:
Children (נַחֲלַת ה’) secure the soul’s eternal bundle (צְרוּר הַחַיִּים), merited through Torah teaching.
