And in the future, the Holy One, blessed be He, will raise the Congregation of Israel, which is the Shekhinah, from the dust, as it is said: “”וְהֵבִיאוֹתִים אֶל הַר קָדְשִׁי וְשִׂמַּחְתִּים””, “”And I will bring them to My holy mountain and make them joyful”” (Isaiah 56:7), etc. And it is written: “בִּבְכִי יָבֹאוּ וּבְתַחֲנוּנִים אוֹבִילֵם”, “They shall come with weeping, and with supplications I will lead them” (Jeremiah 31:9). Just as at first it is written: “בָּכוֹ תִבְכֶּה בַּלַּיְלָה וְדִמְעָתָהּ עַל לֶחֱיָהּ ”, “She weeps bitterly in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks” (Lamentations 1:2), so afterward, they will return from exile with weeping, as it is written: “בִּבְכִי יָבֹאוּ”, “They shall come with weeping,” etc.

In the morning light, the men were sent off, they and their donkeys” (Genesis 44:3).
Rabbi Elazar said: Here one should look carefully. If they were going and being sent, why do we need the Torah to write “”they and their donkeys””?
And he answers: Rather, because it is written: “”וְלָקַחְתָּ אֹתָנוּ לַעֲבָדִים וְאֵת חֲמֹרֵינוּ””, “”And take us for slaves and our donkeys”” (Genesis 43:18). For this reason it is written: “”וְהָאֲנָשִׁים שֻׁלְּחוּ הֵמָּה וַחֲמֹרֵיהֶם””, “”the men were sent off, they and their donkeys,”” to let us hear that neither they nor their donkeys remained there, as they had said.
Notes:
Rabbi Elazar explains that the emphasis “”they and their donkeys”” reassures that Joseph did not enslave them or seize their donkeys as feared. This highlights divine mercy in the narrative, contrasting fear with relief.

Friday would be a good day to make a ** Donation, especially if you didn’t donate in the past week. Giving on Friday, which is an aspect of Yessod, expands the vessel for the Light and honor of Shabbat.
** Your donation doesn’t have to be given to the same place every week. You can alternate or split your donation among those who benefit you spiritually.
