Tikkun 66 – 5
Rabbi Elazar asks Rabbi Shimon on how the armies of negativity come down to the world to harm them.
The answer lies in the secret of the Tree of Knowledge that will be revealed in the generation of Mashiach.
The hint is what is revealed in the dream of Nebuchadnezzar in the book of Daniel chapter 2.
Daniel 2:32
“הוּא צַלְמָא, רֵאשֵׁהּ דִּי-דְהַב טָב, חֲדוֹהִי וּדְרָעוֹהִי, דִּי כְסַף; מְעוֹהִי וְיַרְכָתֵהּ, דִּי נְחָשׁ”
“As for that image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of the snake”
The image of the Tree is half good and half bad. From the waist up is good and from the waist down is bad.
The head is gold, breast and arms are silver to represent the good half. The belly and thighs are brass and the aspect of the Primordial Snake and the bad half.
Nebuchadnezzar knew how to connect to the Tree of Knowledge and it gave him the power to conquer Jerusalem and destroy the first Holy Temple.
The Zohar tells us that the secret of the Tree of Knowledge will be revealed in the generation of Mashiach.
