Zohar Vayikra
Exodus 40:17
“Now in the first month of the second year, on the first day of the month, the tabernacle was erected.”
On the first day of the month of Nisan (Aries) the building of the Holy Tabernacle was completed.
40:33
“He erected the court all around the tabernacle and the altar, and hung up the veil for the gateway of the court. Thus Moses finished the work.”
At this point, only Moses could prepare and make the Tabernacle ready for the light of YHVH.
40:34
“Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of YHVH filled the tabernacle.”
After the ‘vessel’, which was the Tabernacle was ready, the Light could come down and fill it.
40:35
“Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle.”
Moses was no longer able to get into the Tabernacle because the presence of God made it inaccessible. It was now on such a higher state that even Moses couldn’t come close..
The above process was at the last chapter and verses of Exodus. The book of Exodus is the aspect of Chokmah that comes after Genesis that is Keter. Now at the beginning of Leviticus, that is the aspect of Binah, God invites Moses to the Tabernacle.
Binah is life and the source of light to the world. The Tabernacle can now serve the people.
Now God can call Moses, that is the aspect of Da’atm to become channel for the people and channel the light of Binah to the world.
Leviticus 1:1
“Then YHVH called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying,”
The Zohar explains that the word ‘וַיִּקְרָא’, has the letters that represent the camps of the angels that welcomed Moses into the Holy Tabernacle.
The letters ק represents Gevurah and left column, ר represents the judgments of the left in the central column together with the קר. Yod י, represents Chessed and right column. א is the aspect of Malchut. These letters יקרא are the aspect of the angel Michael that made it open for Moses to come into the Holy Tabernacle . The letter ו Vav connects all the camps of the angels from Binah to Malchut through the central column.
The basic teaching of this study is that we need to prepare a proper vessel for the light to come into our lives. Then we need to make the connections with the sacred Hebrew words to create and use the native angels to connect us to this light.
In a few days (in the coming Shabbat of 3/21/2015) we celebrate the first day of the first month, the day that the Tabernacle was built. With the reading of Vayikra we can make higher connection to the Holy Tabernacle.
Since we do not have the Tabernacle or the Holy Temple, we can connect to their light through our studies and actions. With the first day and the first month we start six month of male aspect, meaning greater opportunity to channel light. Studying and giving is the way to create and open channels, welcoming the light into our lives. Giving donations to where we receive light is like giving to the Holy Tabernacle. It will make us ready to receive greater light at the beginning of the year (Nisan, Aries) and prepare us better for the night of the Seder and the revelation of the great light of the Redemption.
