Hebrew translation:

249. שֶׁכַּאֲשֶׁר הוֹלֵךְ רוֹפֵא חָכָם אֶצְלוֹ, יִמְצָאֵהוּ בְּאֶרֶץ מִדְבָּר וּבְתֹהוּ יְלֵל יְשִׁמֹן, מַחֲלוֹת הַשּׁוֹרוֹת עָלָיו. מוֹצֵא אוֹתוֹ בְּמַאֲסַר הַמֶּלֶךְ. אִם תֹּאמַר, הוֹאִיל וְהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא (פּוֹקֵד) יִפְקֹד לִתְפֹּס אוֹתוֹ, שֶׁלֹּא יִשְׁתַּדֵּל אָדָם אַחֲרָיו – לֹא כָּךְ, שֶׁהֲרֵי אָמַר דָּוִד, (תהלים מא) אַשְׁרֵי מַשְׂכִּיל אֶל דָּל וְגוֹ’. דַּל הוּא אוֹתוֹ שֶׁשּׁוֹכֵב בְּבֵית חָלְיוֹ. וְאִם רוֹפֵא חָכָם הוּא, הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא נוֹתֵן לוֹ בְּרָכוֹת לְאוֹתוֹ שֶׁיִּשְׁתַּדֵּל בּוֹ.
250. וְאוֹתוֹ רוֹפֵא, יִמְצָאֵהוּ בְּאֶרֶץ מִדְבָּר, בְּבֵית חָלְיוֹ שׁוֹכֵב. וּבְתֹהוּ יְלֵל יְשִׁמֹן, שֶׁאוֹתָן מַחֲלוֹת מְצֵרוֹת לוֹ. מַה צָּרִיךְ לוֹ לַעֲשׂוֹת? יְסוֹבְבֶנְהוּ – יְסוֹבֵב סִבּוֹת וְיָבִיא עִלּוֹת כְּדֵי שֶׁיִּמְנַע מִמֶּנּוּ אוֹתָם דְּבָרִים שֶׁמַּזִּיקִים לוֹ. יַקִּיז לוֹ, וְיוֹצִיא מִמֶּנּוּ דָם רַע. יְבוֹנְנֵהוּ – יִסְתַּכֵּל וְיָבִין אוֹתוֹ חוֹלֶה מִמַּה הָיָה, וְיִסְתַּכֵּל כְּדֵי שֶׁלֹּא יִכְבַּד עָלָיו וִימַעֵט אוֹתוֹ. לְבַסּוֹף – יִצְּרֶנְהוּ כְּאִישׁוֹן עֵינוֹ, כְּדֵי שֶׁיִּהְיֶה שָׁמוּר כְּמוֹ שֶׁצָּרִיךְ בְּאוֹתָם מַשְׁקִים, בְּאוֹתָן רְפוּאוֹת שֶׁצְּרִיכוֹת לוֹ, וְלֹא יִטְעֶה (מֵהֶם) בֵּינֵיהֶן. שֶׁאִם יִטְעֶה אֲפִלּוּ בְדָבָר אֶחָד, הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא חוֹשֵׁב עַל אוֹתוֹ רוֹפֵא כְּאִלּוּ שָׁפַךְ דָּמִים וַהֲרָגוֹ.

So it is written in that book that when a wise physician goes to the sick, “He found him in a desert land And the wasteland,” meaning, the illnesses are upon him, and he is placed in the prison of the King that is the ‘desert land and wasteland.’
You may say that since the Holy One Blessed be He ordered the imprisonment of that person, and then there is no reason to help him do Teshuva. This is not true because we understand otherwise from the words of King David;
Psalm 41:2
“אַשְׁרֵי מַשְׂכִּיל אֶל דָּל בְּיוֹם רָעָה יְמַלְּטֵהוּ יְהוָה.”
“Blessed is he who considers the poor; YHVH will deliver him in time of trouble.”
The one who is ill is considered poor. If his friend is a wise healer, the Holy One Blessed be He gives blessings to whoever makes efforts for his sake.

The healer “found him in a desert,” meaning he found him sick lying in his bed. “A howling in the wilderness” means that the illnesses torment the sick. “He encircled him,” meaning that the healer brings reasons and explanations to the ‘sick’ to avoid the things that cause him harm. He let his blood to remove the evil part of the blood. “He instructed him,” meaning he looks for the causes of the illness and acts to stop its growth and diminish it. “He kept him as the apple of His eye” means that he is careful not to make mistakes with the positions and medicines given to the sick. If the healer makes even one mistake and the ‘sick’ dies, the Holy One Blessed be He considers the healer as if he spilled his blood and killed the patient.

Lesson;
The Zohar teaches us how to approach a ‘sick,’ that is, a person that got disconnected from the Light and heals him.
The first step is identifying that the person is in the ‘desert,’ which is the aspect of a place of negativity and or ‘disconnected’ from ‘Life.’
Then we try to understand the ‘howling’ that is the pain of the ‘sick.’ Then, we find the causes of the illness/disconnection. Then, the bloodletting process removes the control of the negativity and finds ways to stop the root causes from spreading further.
The last and critical step is to provide the ‘cure.’ If we reach this point with a person in need, we have to be careful with what we offer them as ‘medicine.’
As ‘healers,’ we try to bring the person to the same level of ‘health’ as they are. This is a mistake that I made myself at the beginning. A personal trainer won’t take a person to the gym and ask him to lift the heavyweights as he can. He will start with weights and exercises that fit the current physical state of a person. If the healer goes too far spiritually, the person may break under the ‘weight,’ and his spirit may die.
There are great merits for bringing a person closer to Hashem, but at the same time, if Hashem ‘assigned’ this person to us, then we should do our best not to fail. Always start slowly to know the person better before giving him the complete Zohar to study.
