Daily Zohar # 3765 – Lech Lecha – Certain as a Lion

Continued from previous DZ
Psalm 3:4
“But You, YHVH, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.”
#121
After David merited a blessing ending with “Shield of David” “Magen David”, he said, “ My glory and the One who lifts up my head” (Psalm 3:4) . With these words, he expressed the honor of this level that he is adorned with.
#122
The Holy One Blessed be He protects (Magen) the Tzadikim so they won’t be controlled by other people. The Holy One Blessed be He protected Abraham and his wife.
Genesis 12:20
“So Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him; and they sent him away, with his wife and all that he had.”
It is similar to when Pharaoh sent the Israelites out of Egypt after the killing of the first born.
Exodus 12:30
“So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.”
“Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. And go, serve YHVH as you have said.”
With the protection from above, Abraham and King David had no fear of their enemies.
#123
Shechina was with Sarah throughout the night she was with Pharaoh. Each time Pharaoh tried to come to her, an angel came and hit him, following Sarah’s commands.
During this time, Abraham was pleading to Hashem that Pharaoh wouldn’t be able to have control over Sarah.
Proverbs 28:1
“The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are as certain as a lion.”
This was one of the tests that Abraham went through. Hashem tested his faith and certainty in protecting his wife.
#124
Abraham went down to Egypt by himself. Hashem didn’t command him to go there so it won’t be understood that Hashem sent him to be tested.
Lesson;
It is wise not to get into challenging situations to avoid going through a test. If we hold steadfast to our faith with certainty in Hashem, avoid being tested.
Even though Abraham hid his relationship to Sarah, she received protection. She told Pharaoh that she is married to Abraham, but Pharaoh kept trying to have her. Sarah was on a high spiritual level and was aware of the presence of the Shechina and the angel that protects her. Pharaoh was a magician but he couldn’t avoid the angel that protected Sarah. He suffered 10 times before letting her go.
