Daily Zohar # 3778 – Chayei Sarah – One cave, double value

#115
The secret to ‘שדה המכפלה’ ‘Field of the Machpelah’ is in the Holy Name, YHVH. The name has the double letters ה H and exists as one in the name. It represents the connection between Mercy and judgment. The first ה H is for Binah, aspect of Mercy, and the lower ה H is for Malchut, aspect of judgment. The letter ה H at the beginning of the word ‘המכפלה’ ‘the Machpelah,’ means ‘the,’ implies to the lower ה H of the name, Malchut that is sweetened by the upper הH that is Binah and Mercy.
#116
Even though the Cave was double, meaning a cave within a cave, it was called “The cave of the field of the Machpelah” for the aspect of sweetening Malchut in Binah, and not for its double form.
Abraham knew that and hid this fact from the people of Heth. When he offered to buy the Cave, he mentioned the Cave without the field, saying, “that he may give me the cave of Machpelah” (Genesis 23:9).
The Torah gives the Cave the proper name, “The cave of the field of the Machpelah,” because the sweetening of Malchut with Binah connects to the field and not the Cave.
#117
The Holy One Blessed be He sets everything that is found in this world, Malchut, to be as what is found above, in Binah, so they could cling to each other and have his honor revealed above and below.
Blessed is the portion of the righteous, which the Holy One Blessed be He chose them in this world and in the world to come.
Lesson;
Abraham realized the great value of the Cave of the Machpelah. He didn’t let the people of Heth be aware of that. He asked for a burial place in a simple and unimportant way “the cave which is at the end of his field”.
Every transaction in this world has tangible and spiritual aspects. It is important for us to protect the spiritual aspect from the other side. Even when we do a Mitzvah of any kind we want to do the action with spiritual excitement but without exposing it. Any exposure would cause a negative effect on the entire ‘package’.
Abraham paid the full price for the field and the Cave to avoid any ownership dispute in the future.
Anything of spiritual value for us should be paid in full so we can have complete ownership of the Light we would receive from it.
