Exodus 13:21
“And YHVH went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.”
The children of Israel were walking behind the cloud of Hashem that protected them.
Exodus 14:12
“Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”

After Israel’s complaints, we read;
Exodus 14:19
“And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.”

Lesson;
As we read previously (#171), the Shechina is called ‘angel’. When the Israelites expressed doubts in Hashem, they lost the protection of the Shechina as the verse says, the angel moved behind the camp of Israel. We know that this verse is the first of the three verses that make the 72 names. After the Shechina moved to the back, we need to make efforts and ‘dig’ our protection from the Torah. The main and important lesson is that we should never lose our certainty in Hashem.

#174
(Beginning of the original Zohar text is missing here)… the Mashiach was happy about it, also, happy was the head of the Yeshiva that received the good message. He asked the Mashiach, how did Daniel know when he said;
Daniel 5:28
“PERES: Your kingdom has been divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.”
He answered that Daniel knew that from the letters “וּפַרְסִין” “and Parsin” from Daniel 5:25
“And this is the writing that was inscribed: Mene, Mene, Tekel, and Parsin.”
This word implies the matter related to King Mashiach. It alludes to the Persian king that would conquer many kingdoms and rule them. He would also rule over the Holy Land for twelve months and kill many, Mashiach son of Joseph may be among them. And then the king of Persia will fall, and the supreme Holy ones will receive the kingdom. And so here too, the word “וּפַרְסִין” “and Parsin” means that he is the king of Persia.

Lesson;
I believe that the missing Zohar text above was related to a greater secret related to the coming of Mashiach, and the original editors removed it to protect the people.
We should be VERY CAREFUL about following predictions and interpretations of events like the coming of Mashiach. Many great righteous people of the past predicted dates and or periods of time for the possible coming of Mashiach but none of them so far was accurate. The coming of Mashiach is a secret that ONLY Hashem knows. We get hints and messages only to encourage us to be on the righteous path and focus on our corrections to be ready for final judgment day.
We all feel that the time has come, because of the great evil that spreads everywhere around the world. We want to believe that the Final Redemption would come soon because Hashem would not let his world fall into the hands of the evil side.
Nevertheless, we should not focus on the evil deeds that are complete darkness but turn to the Light to have the protection of the Shechina walking in front of us to shine light and remove all evil from our path.
A friend purchased a gun for his protection and practiced using it. I recommended to him to keep with his daily studies and wear a Tzitzit because the Light we gather with our studies and Tzedakah would keep us away from places where we need to use a gun for protection.

The Daily Zohar studies, as well as other Torah studies, are important to have the protection we need.
