Rabbi Yehuda quotes Genesis 1:6
“וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים יְהִי רָקִיעַ בְּתוֹךְ הַמָּיִם וִיהִי מַבְדִּיל בֵּין מַיִם לָמָיִם.”
“Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”
and said; when the Holy One, Blessed be He, created the world, He created seven heavens above, seven lands below, seven days, seven rivers, seven days, seven weeks, seven years, seven times, seven thousand years that the world stands in existence by them. That is to say that he would sustain the world in existence for seven thousand years and the Holy One Blessed be He, is found in the seventh, of all mentioned above.
Seven heavens are above, and in each and everyone are stars and the Zodiac. There are servants appointed to serve each heaven. In all the heavens above there are chariots on top of each other, to receive the yoke of their king upon them. In all the heavens there are chariots and servants different from one another, some on top of others, some with six wings, and some with four wings. Some of them in four faces, some of them in two faces, and some of them in one face. From them fiery fire, from the water, from the wind, as it is written;
“עֹשֶׂה מַלְאָכָיו רוּחוֹת מְשָׁרְתָיו אֵשׁ לֹהֵט.”
“Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a fiery fire.”
