Hebrew translation:
Tikkun 60 – 4
Exodus 15:25
“ וַיִּצְעַק אֶל-יְהוָה, וַיּוֹרֵהוּ יְהוָה עֵץ, וַיַּשְׁלֵךְ אֶל-הַמַּיִם, וַיִּמְתְּקוּ הַמָּיִם; שָׁם שָׂם לוֹ חֹק וּמִשְׁפָּט, וְשָׁם נִסָּהוּ”
“And he cried unto YHVH; and YHVH showed him a tree, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There He made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there He proved them”
The Zohar here brings another aspect of the ‘tree’ that Moses cast into the water. The tree is reference to
Moses’s staff, “מטה”. It represents the central column that controls the right and the left. The name for staff, מטה , has also the meaning of ‘to the lower level’. Moses is the aspect of the Sefirah of Da’at. He has full control over the central column and the lower seven Sefirot. When Moses turned the staff to a Snake, it was to control the left column and to be able to ‘smite’ the wicked. When he turned the snake back into the staff, he brought balance and the righteous could be rewarded.
When we hold to the Tree of Life, which is through studying the Torah on the level of the Zohar, it brings balance and control into our lives and gives us the ability to protect ourselves from negativity of the left side. It also helps us receive rewards from the right side.
