Daily Zohar 4456
Hebrew translation:
157. וְהַכֹּל הָיָה, וְגַן עֵדֶן שֶׁנִּכְנַס עִמּוֹ וּבֵרְכוֹ, וּמִשּׁוּם כָּךְ לֹא תָלָה הַדָּבָר בַּלְּבוּשִׁים, אֶלָּא בְּיַעֲקֹב מַמָּשׁ, שֶׁרָאָה שֶׁבּוֹ הָיָה הַדָּבָר תָּלוּי (וְרָאוּי הָיָה לְהִתְבָּרֵךְ) וְנִרְאֶה, וּזְכוּתוֹ עוֹלָה לְהִתְבָּרֵךְ, וְנִכְנַס עִמּוֹ גַּן עֵדֶן. וּמִשּׁוּם כָּךְ, כְּשֶׁהִתְרַעֵם עֵשָׂו, אָמַר גַּם בָּרוּךְ יִהְיֶה.
158. אָמַר רַבִּי יִצְחָק, לֹא הִצְטָרְכָה תּוֹרָה לִכְתֹּב אֶלָּא מֵהַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה לָכֶם רֹאשׁ חֳדָשִׁים. מָה הַטַּעַם? מִשּׁוּם שֶׁזֶּה הָיָה תְּחִלַּת הַלְּבָנָה, וְעַל זֶה הַתּוֹרָה הִצְטָרְכָה לִכְתֹּב מִכָּאן, שֶׁהֲרֵי בַּקָּדוֹשׁ-בָּרוּךְ-הוּא נִקְשָׁר הַדָּבָר.

The question is why Abraham did not pray in the field of the Cave of Machpelah like Isaac did. The answer is that Abraham initially had another established place of prayer. Additionally, Abraham had experienced a different kind of fragrance at Mount Moriah.
The name “Moriah” is derived from the Hebrew for “הַמֹּר הַטּוֹב” (Mor Hatov), “the good myrrh,” symbolizing the unique fragrance and experience associated with that location.

The text explains that Jacob’s blessing was not solely due to the garments he wore but also because of his own inherent qualities and merits. In addition to the scent associated with Jacob, the Garden of Eden entered with him, contributing to his being blessed. Consequently, Isaac didn’t base his blessing on the clothes alone but recognized that the essence of the blessing was tied to Jacob himself. Jacob was seen as deserving, and his merit warranted the blessing. This is why, even when Esau protested later, Isaac affirmed, saying, “He shall be blessed” (“גם ברוך יהיה”) (Genesis 27:33), acknowledging the validity of the blessing he had given to Jacob.

Rabbi Yitzhak said the Torah could have started with the verse Exodus 12:2
“הַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה לָכֶם רֹאשׁ חֳדָשִׁים רִאשׁוֹן הוּא לָכֶם לְחָדְשֵׁי הַשָּׁנָה.”
“This month shall be your beginning of months; it shall be the first month of the year to you.”
He explains that the reason is the verse’s significance in marking the beginning of the moon’s dominion. The moon is the secret of the Sefira of Malchut, that when in a state of completeness, it unites with the Holy One, Blessed be He. Therefore, the Torah could have begun when the moon started its perfection process: “beginning of months, it shall be the first month of the year to you.”
