The passage from the Zohar addresses the question of why the phrase “הַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה” “This month” is used in Exodus 12:2 instead of “הַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֹּאת” “This (feminine) month,” given that the moon, representing the Sefira of Malchut, is referred to in feminine terms (“זֹּאת” “zot,” meaning “this” in feminine form). The explanation given is that when the male and female aspects are united, the praise is attributed to the masculine aspect. Therefore, the verse uses “הַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה” (masculine form) rather than “הַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֹּאת” (feminine form). The repetition of the word “לָכֶם” (for you) in the verse “This month shall be unto you the beginning of months” emphasizes that the sanctification of the new moon, and thus the counting of the months, is a commandment specifically for the children of Israel and not for other nations. This distinction aligns with the concept that Israel has a unique portion with the YHVH as it is written;
Deuteronomy 32:9
“כִּי חֵלֶק יְהֹוָה עַמּוֹ יַעֲקֹב חֶבֶל נַחֲלָתוֹ.”
“For YHVH’s portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance.”
The passage highlights the unique connection (“הִתְקַשְּׁרוּת”) of the new month with the people of Israel, distinct from other nations.

Exodus 12:3
“דַּבְּרוּ אֶל כָּל עֲדַת יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר בֶּעָשֹׂר לַחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה וְיִקְחוּ לָהֶם אִישׁ שֶׂה לְבֵית אָבֹת שֶׂה לַבָּיִת.”
“Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: ‘On the tenth of this month, every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household.”
He asks, why on the tenth day? Rabbi Abba explains that on the tenth, Binah, which is the aspect of the Jubilee, illuminates the moon, Malchut. Yom Kippur is on the tenth day when the Light of Binah is revealed.

Lesson;
This Zohar reveals to us that the Congregation of Israel made a connection to Binah when they were commanded to take a lamb into their homes on the tenth of the month.
