#321
The remedy for this, so that Lil-ith cannot harm, is that at the time when a man unites with his wife to beget children, he should direct his heart in the holiness of his Master, and say as follows:
“O you who are wrapped in a sheet” — that is, Lil-ith, who is wrapped and always wailing, for the name Lil-ith is from the language of wailing. “You have appeared. Flee, flee! Do not enter and do not come out. You have neither part nor portion. Return, return — the sea is stormy, its waves are calling you. In the holy portion I am grasped, in the holiness of the King I am wrapped.”
#322
And he should cover his head and the head of his wife for one hour. Similarly, every time they unite, until three days for the absorption of the seed, for any seed that a woman does not absorb within three days, she no longer absorbs. And in the book that Ashmedai (King of the demons) left to King Solomon, it says that it is until thirty days. And it says that after he completes the act, he should pour clear water around his bed. And this is the complete protection.
Notes:
The Zohar provides a practical kabbalistic safeguard against Lil-ith during marital relations. The husband must consciously direct his intention toward holiness and recite a powerful adjuration commanding Lil-ith to flee back to the stormy sea, declaring that he and his wife are enveloped in the King’s holiness and have no connection to her.
The couple should cover their heads during the act, and maintain pure unification for at least three days (or up to thirty days according to Ashmedai’s tradition) to ensure proper conception. Pouring clear water around the bed afterward seals the protection. This ritual ensures the holy union is protected from impure forces, allowing children to be born under divine blessing rather than Lil-ith’s influence.
