Daily Zohar # 5204 – Vayikra – When a person ignores his wrongdoing
Daily Zohar 5204

Zohar Vayikra
Continued from previous DZ
#403
After the judgment reaches him, his spirit awakens to return in repentance before his Master, and he submits to offer a sacrifice. For one whose heart is filled with pride over him, he sins and forgets his sin, and does not look at it. And therefore the Holy One, blessed be He, is prepared against him, and commands to make known to him his sin, so that he will not forget it.
Notes:
Once judgment comes, the person’s spirit awakens to repent and bring an offering. The Holy One, blessed be He, reveals the sin through judgment precisely because pride causes one to forget wrongdoing.
If you remember
#404
Rabbi Yossi said, So it is certainly. And so we find with David, when he sinned that deed with Bathsheba. He did not pay attention to it. The Holy One, blessed be He, said to him, You forgot it, I will remind you. Immediately, what is written, “אַתָּה הָאִישׁ כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה” “You are the man, so says YHVH” (2 Samuel 12:7). You are the man who did not remember the sin, you are the man who forgot it. And with what did He make it known to him. It is with judgment.
Notes:
Rabbi Yossi confirms the teaching with the example of King David’s sin with Bathsheba. When David overlooked it, the Holy One, blessed be He, reminded him through the prophet Nathan’s direct judgment: “You are the man.”
