“The one lamb you shall offer in the morning; and the other lamb you shall offer at dusk”
The Zohar teaches us that the daily prayers replace the process of the offerings and sacrifices that used to be done by the priests in the Holy Temple.
The Holy Temple in Jerusalem was a device that, together with the work of the priests, kept the flow of light to the world and removed judgments. After its destruction we were left with priests but no device to use. The sages prepared for us three daily prayers to replace the connection done in the Holy Temple for the entire nation and the whole world.
The Morning Prayer connects us to the right column of Chessed, a channel that was established by Abraham.
Genesis 19:27
“And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he had stood before YHVH.”
The afternoon prayer connects us to Isaac and left column. This is the prayer that together with the Morning Prayer, removes judgments from our lives.
Genesis 24:63
“And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide”
The evening prayer is the point of balance in the energy of the day and we go to sleep after, to prepare for the next day.
Genesis 28:11
“And he (Jacob) lighted upon the place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep.”
“Coming to the place” is explained by the Zohar as a point of prayer. We learned before that the place that Jacob stopped to pray and sleep is the place of the Holy Temple. On that place he had the famous dream of the angels going up and down the ladder.
The tendency of people across all religions is to feel ‘saved’, stating that they believe in God and behave as good people following the 10 commandments, tithing and keeping the laws of the land.
I am sorry to upset some of you but this is only the basics system to keep oneself from falling into negativity. If we want to better our souls and life on earth we MUST make spiritual connections on scheduled times. The ideal connection, as the sages recommended, is to prepare for meditation for one hour, then pray, meditate for one hour and stay in the meditation state for another hour before dealing with any mundane issue. Obviously it is almost impossible to achieve this nowadays, but we can do the best that we can do. It is not just about ourselves but for the entire world around us.
This is the process of building LIFE. Going to the other direction is building DEATH. How do you think the people that died today spent their lives? Did they build themselves to the moment of death with the most expensive coffin and Italian marble as tomb stone? Or did they build something great spiritually that is part of their soul and that no one can take away from them.
When you study, meditate to cleanse your soul and share the light revealed from the study with all people in the world. Study is higher than actions because actions are limited to a place, people, for a specific period of time. Revealing light affects the entire world as it removes judgment from it.
