Zohar Ki Tisa
Isaiah 66:5
“שִׁמְעוּ, דְּבַר-יְהוָה, הַחֲרֵדִים, אֶל-דְּבָרוֹ; אָמְרוּ אֲחֵיכֶם שֹׂנְאֵיכֶם מְנַדֵּיכֶם, לְמַעַן שְׁמִי יִכְבַּד יְהוָה–וְנִרְאֶה בְשִׂמְחַתְכֶם, וְהֵם יֵבֹשׁוּ”
“Hear the word of YHVH, you who tremble at His word: “Your brothers who hate you, who exclude you, for My name’s sake, Have said, ‘Let YHVH be glorified, that we may see your joy.’ But they will be put to shame.”
The Zohar quotes the prophet Isaiah telling us about the time that those who hate the Israelites see themselves as the controllers of the world. They will claim that God is with them and see joy in their lives. But the time will come and they will be put to shame when they see all the good that comes on the Israelites.
The Israelites scattered all over the world in exile from the holy land and from the close relationship that they had with God. The suffering and the hard work that the Israelites need to go through in the process is part of God’s plan for us. He wants us to earn the great benefit of the future.
It is like a father who owns a huge plant with a lot of managers and workers. He sent his son to start working on the the lower levels of the plant so he can gradually grow and be able to inherit the control over the plant.
Those above him don’t know that he is the son of the owner that pays their salaries. They treat him with disrespect and use his energy to their advantage. When the son proves himself and continues climbing up in the levels of the plant he will inherit the full control over the plant.
Our duties as Israelites wherever we are on this earth is to do the spiritual work and draw light to the world. We may see all those who hate us raising their heads with pride but this is only temporary.
