Daily Zohar # 1777 – Tzav – Keep the good fire burning
“’The fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it. It shall not go out, but the priest shall burn wood on it every morning; and he shall lay out the burnt offering on it, and offer up in smoke the fat portions of the peace offerings on it.”
The verse above tells us that the priest should make the fire to burn the offering. The Zohar brings a point saying that fire is left column and judgment and why the priest, that is right column and Chessed, needs to deal with it.
The Zohar explains that the fire burns impurities and all kind of negativity, only with the power of the right column and Chassadim of the priest the negativity can be removed.
Because the offering is supposed to atone for the sin of the people, they should be burnt. A simple burning would add the aspect of judgment but when it comes from the right with Chessed then this fire is able to remove the impurities.
The lesson for us is clear; if we want to remove judgment, we need to bring Chassadim.
