Zohar Chaye Sarah
Continued from previous DZ
‘and (Abraham) spoke to the sons of Heth’. The word Heth ‘חת’ also means ‘fear’. They are the dwellers of the dust and that is why they are called the sons of Heth. The righteous have the ‘fear’ of God and accept the hardship of this world to be closer to him. They need their bodies to be ready for the Resurrection.
Abraham (soul) needed the sons of Heth to keep the righteous bodies and when the time comes, the souls could connect back to the body.
Abraham approached the Sons of Heth with respect. The Zohar explains that Abraham wanted to establish a positive connection between the souls and the bodies.
The sons of Heth replied with respect to Abraham accepting the special relationship..
“Hear us, my lord, you are a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our graves; none of us will refuse you his grave for burying your dead.”
