Zohar Shelach Lecha
If Adam didn’t sin, then he wouldn’t experience the taste of death in this world when moving up to the upper worlds.
Now because he did sin, the soul must be separated from the body in order to move up. The body stays down in this world and the soul must bath in the river called ‘Dinur’ to accept punishment and get cleansed. After this cleansing the soul can progress on the path to the Garden of Eden. When in the spiritual world, a new garment of light is introduced to the soul in the shape of its body in lower world. The soul dresses in it and it becomes hers. On days of Rosh Chodesh (new moons) and on Shabbat, the soul connects to additional soul levels to allow it to ascend higher.
“וְהָיָה מִדֵּי חֹדֶשׁ בְּחָדְשׁוֹ וּמִדֵּי שַׁבָּת בְּשַׁבַּתּוֹ יָבוֹא כָל בָּשָׂר לְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹת לְפָנַי אָמַר יְהוָה”
“”And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from sabbath to sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says YHVH.”
Why every month? the Zohar asks and answers that the secret is related to the renewal of the moon. The moon receives a new light from the sun every month.
‘and from Shabbat to Shabbat’. It is similar with Shabbat as Shabbat is the seventh, Malchut and the aspect of the moon that receives light from the sun. The souls have rest and elevation every Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh except for the wicked that never repented. Their death aspect of their actions spread throughout the upper worlds and block their option to have process of elevation. These souls stay in a state that is called ‘Kaf Hakela’, which is a constant pain and suffering. Their souls are thrown like a stone from one place to another without having rest.
Rabbi Yehuda says, ‘thank God, the merciful, for asking this question and receiving this answer.
