The fire and smoke that blocked the light from entering Gehennam are aspects of Judgments. Three angels appointed to clean the three lines from those judgments and return them to their original place in Gehennam. During this process, Gehennam benefited from the light of the unification for one and a half hour. The light that came from Chokmah, Binah and Da’at has the aspect of three hours. The line of Da’at is in the middle and split into Chessed and Gevurah, The Left received on the Left from Binah that is one hour and half of Da’at that went into Gevurah that is half an hour.
This process is repeated during the three daily prayers when the Kadish is recited and the Isarelites say “אָמֵן יְהֵא שְׁמֵיהּ רַבָּא מְבָרַךְ” “Amen Yehe Shemeh Rabah”
“וְאֹרַח צַדִּיקִים כְּאוֹר נֹגַהּ הוֹלֵךְ וָאוֹר עַד נְכוֹן הַיּוֹם”
“But the path of the righteous is like the shining light, That shines brighter and brighter until the full day”
The prayers and the work of righteous people reveal light that affect the spiritual worlds above and the material world below.
Rabbi Aba explains that there are seven sections in Gehennam. Those who die with impurities go down to the lower section in Gehennam.
At the lower level, there are two section next to each other. One is called ‘Sheol’ and one is called ‘Avadon’. Those who arrive to Sheol are judged and follow their prescribed cleansing process. A soul from Sheol can progress and go move up to a higher and easier level until it comes out of Gehennam.
The literal meaning of ‘Avadon’ is ‘lost’ and those who admitted into this section are evil of the highest level and can never get out.
The sages tell us that when answering “Amen, Yeheh Shemeh Raba, Mevarach…” with consciousness, we are cleansed from a judgment of 70 years.
These special words translate into “May his great name be blessed forever and ever (all the worlds)”. The Hebrew words have 28 letters. 28 is the numerical value of ‘כח’, ‘strength/force’. The word for ‘his name ‘שְׁמֵיהּ’ has a ‘Mapik’ in the letter ‘הּ’. In such cases the Hה implies relation to Binah. The Kadish has 7 occurrences of Mapik הּ.
The Kadish is all Aramaic words to give it ability to ascend fast and higher to the upper worlds. The angels don’t understand Aramaic and our words are carried directly and quickly to the Holy Throne.
There are many secrets concealed in the words of the Kadish and we should understand from this study is of its great importance. When we listen and answer Amen, to the Kadish we shine light on all the worlds from above to below. The third Amen of the Kadish includes “Yeheh Shemeh Raba mevarach..” and in addition to the light revealed in the upper worlds, we benefit from great cleansing light in the three level of the soul, Neshamah, Ruach and Nefesh.
When a family member die, a Kadish is recited by men of the family to support the soul in the 2 months process that the soul goes through in heaven. It’s is so important that if there’s no man in the family to say Kadish, the family pays another man to recite Kadish for the deceased during the first year.
