Isaiah 21:11
“מַשָּׂא דּוּמָה אֵלַי קֹרֵא מִשֵּׂעִיר שֹׁמֵר מַה מִלַּיְלָה שֹׁמֵר מַה מִלֵּיל”
“The oracle (מַשָּׂא, burden) concerning Edom. One
keeps calling to me from Seir, “Watchman, how far gone is the
night? Watchman, how far gone is the night?”
There are six levels (five paths) that God communicate with us through the prophets.
בְּמַחֲזֶ”ה. בְּחָזוֹ”ן. בְּחִזָּיוֹ”ן. בְּחָזוּ”ת. בְּדָבָ”ר. בְּמַשָּׂ”א.
They have almost the same meaning in English and it’s related to different types of visions. This verse uses the word ‘מַשָּׂא’ to describe the prophecy. It means ‘weight’, ‘burden’. Moses complained to God about why he was ‘assigned’ to carry the ’burden’ of the people.
Numbers 11:11
“וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל-יְהוָה, לָמָה הֲרֵעֹתָ לְעַבְדֶּךָ, וְלָמָּה לֹא-מָצָתִי חֵן, בְּעֵינֶיךָ: לָשׂוּם, אֶת-מַשָּׂא כָּל-הָעָם הַזֶּה–עָלָי”
“So Moses said to YHVH, “Why have You been so hard on Your servant? And why have I not found favor in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me?”
All types of visions are like a revelation of light that is behind a wall or like seeing the light of the sun through a dark foggy glass. A direct vision is not possible because it’s too intense and can pull the prophet to the source of the light and nullifies its existence. The type of vision that the prophet Isaiah used to tell the people how to get out of exile was of type ‘burden’. It means that the revelation of light comes as a process that is heavy and not easy to carry as Moses expressed in his ‘complaint’ to God.

‘The oracle calling me from Seir’ is a prophecy that requires great efforts. It’s a prophecy with no expression of words. ‘Calling me from Seir’ doesn’t say who is calling or if it’s the Holy One Blessed be He or a faithful prophet. Nevertheless, this prophecy stands and will be fulfilled because it comes from a supreme source.
Deuteronomy 33:2
“וַיֹּאמַר, יְהוָה מִסִּינַי בָּא וְזָרַח מִשֵּׂעִיר לָמוֹ–הוֹפִיעַ מֵהַר פָּארָן, וְאָתָה מֵרִבְבֹת קֹדֶשׁ; מִימִינוֹ, אשדת (אֵשׁ דָּת) לָמוֹ”
“He said, “YHVH came from Sinai, And dawned on them from Seir; He shone forth from Mount Paran, And He came from the midst of ten thousand holy ones; At His right hand there was flashing lightning for them.”
The Zohar reveals that this is the secret of faith. It comes levels from within levels that hold more inner levels, Klipa from within Klipa and light from within inner light.
Lesson;
We are in the process of fulfilling the prophecies of the Bible. They are a ‘burden’ on us and require great efforts to make progress to go up from one level to another, increasing the light in our vessels and move forward to break more Klipot on the path to reach the highest level of light that we can in our lives.
The faith that the Zohar mentions here is the mind and consciousness that we carry with us during the pain of the exile. We continue on the path of light even if our ‘glasses’ are dark and foggy. We believe that the heavy process is just the way God wants us to grow and reveal more light.
