Rabbi Chiya says that he ‘drove with difficulty’
Exodus 9:7
“Then Pharaoh sent, and indeed, not even one of the livestock of the Israelites was dead. But the heart of Pharaoh was hardened, and he did not let the people go.”
The root of the word ‘בכבדות’ used to describe the difficulty of driving the Egyptian chariots, ‘כבד’ which means ‘heavy’, is the same as for ‘ויכבד לב פרעה’ ‘hardened his heart’.
The Holy One Blessed be He said to Pharaoh, as you made your heart heavy, so I lead you with heaviness.

Rabbi Yossi says; Egypt is the name of the minister of Egypt. Since he was removed from governing over the Egyptians, how could he go after Israel?
#131
He answers that ‘and Egypt said’ is not referring to the minister of Egypt above, but to Egypt below. When the Torah says ‘King of Egypt’ and not Pharaoh, it refers to the appointed minister of Egypt.
‘for YHVH fights for them against Egypt’ is about YHVH breaking and removing the power of Egypt above.
After the Egyptians realized that they lost the power against Israel, they said ‘Let me flee from the face of Israel’.
Lesson;
We understand that our behavior and words affect the reactions of the spiritual system/judgments toward us.
