Zohar Kedoshim
Continued from previous DZ
#78
A man is not allowed to look at a place where his soul is far from it, and a place that the Holy One Blessed be He disgusted by it. Also, It is not allowed to look at what the Holy One Blessed be He loves.
It is not allowed to look at the rainbow because it reflects a higher image of Malchut with three rainbow colors that represent the secret of the three lines. A man is not allowed to look at his sign of the covenant, which is the body part that channels Light for the purpose of procreation, and it is related to the level of Tzadik.
A person is not allowed to look at the fingers of the priests as they spread out their hands during the blessing. Because the honor of the Supreme King is there. And as we are forbidden from looking at a supernal holy place, so is with the unclean place. For that reason the Torah commands us;
Leviticus 19:4
“אַל תִּפְנוּ אֶל הָאֱלִילִים וֵאלֹהֵי מַסֵּכָה לֹא תַעֲשׂוּ לָכֶם אֲנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.”
“‘Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am YHVH your God.”
Rabbi Yitzchak says that just as you must not look at them, you must certainly not make them or serve them.
