Daily Zohar # 4078 – Beresheet – How to ‘lessen’ for greatness
Daily Zohar 4078

Zohar Beresheet
Continued from previous DZ
Genesis 1:16
“Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. And he made the stars.”
#115
And with all of this, the Nukva shines from all sides. She shines from above, that is, the lower H of the upper name, YHVH, and after the separation, from the side of the name ELHYM. The upper side is called “מֶמְשֶׁלֶת הַיּוֹם” “rule the day”, and the lower side is called “מֶמְשֶׁלֶת הַלַּיְלָה” “rule the night”.
#116
“And he made the stars” refers to countless armies and camps of angels.
Genesis 1:17
“God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,”
All of those that have a count and those that do not have a count hang in the same “firmament of the heaven,” which is Yessod of Zeir Anpin that is called “חַי הָעוֹלָמִים” “life of the worlds.”
“To give light on the earth” refers to giving Light to the lower world.
Lesson;
All celestial bodies connect to and represent spiritual levels. The sun, which is the “Great Light,” is the aspect of Zeir Anpin, receiving from Binah, the upper H of the YHVH name. The moon is the “lesser Light” that is Malchut, receiving its Light from Zeir Anpin. This spiritual principle exists in every world and at every level.
To receive the upper light, we must be humble and ‘lessen’ our ego.
Numbers 12:3
“Now the man Moses was very humble, more than all men who were on the face of the earth.”
Because of his humbleness, Moses could be a channel for the great light of the Torah and many miracles.
Water = Chassadim = the goodness of Hashem easily travels from above to below.
