245. עוֹד פָּתַח רֹאשׁ הַיְשִׁיבָה. שָׂרָה הִתְחַדְּשָׁה בְעִדּוּן, דַּרְגָּתָהּ גָּרְמָה, שֶׁכָּתוּב (בראשית יח) אַחֲרֵי בְלֹתִי הָיְתָה לִּי עֶדְנָה. מַה זֶּה עֶדְנָה? מְשִׁיכַת עֵדֶן הָעֶלְיוֹן. וּמִשּׁוּם שֶׁנִּמְשַׁךְ עָלֶיהָ מִצַּד נְקֵבָה, כָּתוּב עֶדְנָה בְּהֵ”א, וּמִשּׁוּם זֶה כָּתוּב הָיְתָה, וְלֹא הָיָה.
246. וַאדֹנִי זָקֵן. וְכִי אַף עַל גַּב שֶׁהוּא זָקֵן לֹא רָאוּי לְהוֹלִיד? אֶלָּא לֹא דָבָר קָטָן אָמְרָה עָלָיו, (שֶׁאַבְרָהָם אֶלָּא) שֶׁבִּגְלַל (לְהַקְטִין עַצְמָהּ שֶׁנִּדְבְּקָה) אוֹתוֹ (מֶלֶךְ) זָקֵן (שֶׁנִּדְבְּקָה) (וּכְסִיל), לֹא מִתְחַדֵּשׁ וְלֹא עוֹשֶׂה תוֹלָדוֹת, שֶׁאִלְמָלֵא הָיָה עוֹשֶׂה תוֹלָדוֹת, הָיָה מְטַשְׁטֵשׁ אֶת הָעוֹלָם. (אֶלָּא אָמְרָה עַל אַבְרָהָם, בִּגְלַל שֶׁהוּא זָקֵן לֹא יִתְחַדֵּשׁ וְלֹא יַעֲשֶׂה תוֹלָדוֹת) וְעַל זֶה הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא הֶחֱזִיר דְּבָרִים, לָמָּה זֶּה צָחֲקָה שָׂרָה וְגוֹ’. וְאִם תֹּאמַר, וַהֲרֵי כָּתוּב (שם כד) וְאַבְרָהָם זָקֵן בָּא בַּיָּמִים? אֶלָּא בָּא בַּיָּמִים, בְּאוֹתָם יָמִים עֶלְיוֹנִים שֶׁמְּחַדְּשִׁים עֲלוּמִים כַּנֶּשֶׁר. וְעַל זֶה נִגּוּן זֶה נִגּוּן שֶׁל אוֹתוֹ חָדָשׁ הוּא. הוֹשִׁיעָה לּוֹ, לְמִי? לְאוֹתוֹ חָדָשׁ, הוֹשִׁיעָה יְמִין הַמֶּלֶךְ הָעֶלְיוֹן וּזְרוֹעוֹ.
247. אוֹתָם שֶׁיּוֹרְדִים גַּם כֵּן מְנַגְּנִים, וְאוֹמְרִים שִׁירָה יְתוֹמָה אַחֶרֶת. וּמַהִי? (תהלים ק) מִזְמוֹר לְתוֹדָה, שֶׁהוּא יָתוֹם, גַּם כָּךְ.

The head of the upper Yeshiva said that Sarah had a renewal described as “עֶדְנָה” (pronounced Edna). It was caused because she was a female, as it is written;
Genesis 18:12
“וַתִּצְחַק שָׂרָה בְּקִרְבָּהּ לֵאמֹר אַחֲרֵי בְלֹתִי הָיְתָה לִּי עֶדְנָה וַאדֹנִי זָקֵן.”
“Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have the pleasure (עֶדְנָה), my lord being old also?”
What is ”עֶדְנָה” Edna? It is a Light of the upper Eden, which is Chokmah. And it was drawn to her from the female side. It is written עֶדְנָה, which reads ‘Eden’ with the letter הH that represents the female. And therefore, it is written, “הָיְתָה” (feminine) and not “היה” (Masculine).

He asked, is old not fit to give birth? After all, old people also give birth. And he replies, instead, she didn’t say a small thing about him; she said, because of that ‘old’, who is the Sitra Achra, that there are no renewal and births, Abraham does not renew himself and give births. If the Sitra Achra could give birth and create continuation, it would have obscured the world. And to this, the Holy One, Blessed be He, said why Sarah laughed. To tell that the old Sitra Achra controlled Abraham. Asking, and if you say, it is written;
Genesis 24:1
“וְאַבְרָהָם זָקֵן בָּא בַּיָּמִים וַיהוָה בֵּרַךְ אֶת אַבְרָהָם בַּכֹּל.”
“Now Abraham was old (came in the days, בָּא בַּיָּמִים), well advanced in age; and YHVH had blessed Abraham in all things.”
He replies the scripture says, “בָּא בַּיָּמִים” “he came in the days,” which means that he came in those upper days, which refers to Zeir Anpin that renewed their youth like an eagle. And so, in the name of these upper days, Psalm 98 sang.
“מִזְמוֹר שִׁירוּ לַיהוָה שִׁיר חָדָשׁ כִּי נִפְלָאוֹת עָשָׂה הוֹשִׁיעָה לּוֹ יְמִינוֹ וּזְרוֹעַ קָדְשׁוֹ.”
“A Psalm. Oh, sing to YHVH a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and holy arm.”

Until now, he explained the song of the pillars that go up. And now he explains the descending columns that say a different tune, an orphan one, that there is no mention of who said it and what it is. This is Psalm 100:1
“מִזְמוֹר לְתוֹדָה הָרִיעוּ לַיהוָה כָּל הָאָרֶץ.
“A Psalm of Thanksgiving. Make a joyful shout to YHVH, all you lands!”
