All the upper lights illuminate the firmament of the sky so that it will form the proper images below. These forms are the levels related to the Sefirot of the worlds of Beriah, Yetzirah, and Asiya, and to the soul levels Nefesh, Ruach, Neshamah, of the people, as well as to the angels, as it is written;
Genesis 1:17,18
“וַיִּתֵּן אֹתָם אֱלֹהִים בִּרְקִיעַ הַשָּׁמָיִם לְהָאִיר עַל הָאָרֶץ.”
“וְלִמְשֹׁל בַּיּוֹם וּבַלַּיְלָה וּלֲהַבְדִּיל בֵּין הָאוֹר וּבֵין הַחֹשֶׁךְ וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים כִּי טוֹב.”
“God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth.”
“and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.”
The rule of the two luminaries is appropriately made, as explained next.

The great light, Zeir Anpin, is the government of the day, and the small light, which is Nukva, is the government of the night. And we learn the secret that the control of the male is during the day, to fill the house with everything that is needed, and to put sustenance and food in it. When the night comes, and the Nukva takes over everything, there is no control in the house except for the Nukva because then it is her government, as we read;
Proverbs 31:15
“וַתָּקָם בְּעוֹד לַיְלָה וַתִּתֵּן טֶרֶף לְבֵיתָהּ וְחֹק לְנַעֲרֹתֶיהָ.”
“She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants.”

The Nukva, and not Zeir Anpin, provides at night because the government of the day is of Zeir Anpin, and the government of the night is of the Nukva.
