Genesis 12:7
“וַיֵּרָא יְהוָה אֶל אַבְרָם וַיֹּאמֶר לְזַרְעֲךָ אֶתֵּן אֶת הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת וַיִּבֶן שָׁם מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָה הַנִּרְאֶה אֵלָיו.”
“Then YHVH appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants, I will give this land.” And there he built an altar to YHVH, who had appeared to him.”
The secret of the soul levels is in these scriptures.
When Abraham came to the land, the Holy One, Blessed be He, appeared to him as it is written, “To YHVH who had appeared to him.” that is where Abraham received the Light of Nefesh, and he built an altar for this level. After that, it is written,
Genesis 12:9
“וַיִּסַּע אַבְרָם הָלוֹךְ וְנָסוֹעַ הַנֶּגְבָּה.”
“So Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South.”
With that, Abraham achieved the Light of Ruach. And then, he ascended to cling to the Light of Neshama, which is a secret of Binah, which is called the concealed world. It is written then, “and an altar was built there,” without reference because the Neshama is hidden from all. Therefore, it is not written “To God who is visible to him,” as it is written about the Light of Nefesh.

Lesson;
South is the side of Chessed, Abraham, and its Light is revealed when the sun rises in the morning. For that reason, we pray as early as possible in the morning, preferably starting the prayer and reaching the Amida prayer (silent standing prayer) within 10 minutes before or after the first ray of sun breaks through the horizon. The Light of Chessed nourishes and energizes the soul in the morning. Waking up late, with longer sleep hours, doesn’t make the person feel better or stronger.
We don’t eat in the morning before prayers to make our body a pure vessel for the Light of Chessed. Water is okay, but food has an aspect of the Left opposite to Chessed, which is on the Right. If a person doesn’t have health issues that require early eating, it would be better to delay breakfast later in the morning or make it at lunchtime.

Abraham knew he had to connect to a higher level, so he went to Egypt.
Genesis 12:10
“וַיְהִי רָעָב בָּאָרֶץ וַיֵּרֶד אַבְרָם מִצְרַיְמָה לָגוּר שָׁם כִּי כָבֵד הָרָעָב בָּאָרֶץ.”
“Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to dwell there, for the famine was severe in the land.”
Abraham rejected the temptations and saved himself from the lower lights of Egypt. Because he went down and strengthened his vessel, he elevated himself as we read “Went up”;
Genesis 13:1
“וַיַּעַל אַבְרָם מִמִּצְרַיִם הוּא וְאִשְׁתּוֹ וְכָל אֲשֶׁר לוֹ וְלוֹט עִמּוֹ הַנֶּגְבָּה.”
“Then Abram went up from Egypt, he and his wife and all that he had, and Lot with him, to the South.”
With this elevation, Abraham gained the Light of the soul level of Chaya when he returned to the Land of Israel and went “הַנֶּגְבָּה” “south,” which is Chessed in a mature state, elevating on the Right line and becomes Chokma.

Lesson;
Abraham gained the first three levels, and then after going through challenges in Egypt and overcoming them, he achieved the fourth level of Chaya. With this level, Abraham could control spiritual levels. He wrote “ספר יצירה” “the Book of Formation,” which is full of spiritual secrets, including the code to create living creatures.

From then on, Abraham knew the supreme Chokma, clung to the Holy One, Blessed be He, and became the Right side of the world. Then it was said;
Genesis 13:2
“וְאַבְרָם כָּבֵד מְאֹד בַּמִּקְנֶה בַּכֶּסֶף וּבַזָּהָב.”
“Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.”
“Very rich,” on the east side, which is Tiferet. “In livestock,” on the west side, which is Malchut. “In silver,” on the south side, which is Chokmah, “In gold,” on the north side, which is Binah.
