Daily Zohar 4440

Rabbi Yosi asked, “Why does the black rooster appear?” Rabbi Yehuda replied, “Everything that the Holy One, Blessed be He, made on earth, all hint at Chokmah (wisdom), but people do not know this. This is what is meant by the verse.
Psalm 104:24
“O YHVH, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom, You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions—”
Because they were made with wisdom, Chokmah, all of them hint at Chokmah.

About the black rooster, we have learned that judgment dwells only in a place that is its own. The color black comes from the side of judgment, as the black hue hints at the Sefira of Malchut, which is the attribute of judgment. Therefore, at midnight, when the north wind, which represents the Left line, is aroused, a fire flame strikes beneath the wings of the rooster and it crows, as explained above. A black rooster, coming from the attribute of judgment, hints more significantly at this meaning (of judgment) than a rooster of another color.
