#143
He asks, when did the judgment from above, from the male, awaken to govern the world? And answers on the day of the Flood. Therefore, nothing remained in the world except for Noah’s ark, which is like the Supernal Ark, which is Malchut, enduring the force of judgment. If it were not for the ark that the Holy One, Blessed be He, prepared for him and revealed mercy on the world, the world as a whole would have been destroyed. For it is written,
Psalm 29:10
YHVH sat enthroned at the Flood, And YHVH sits as King forever.”
From then on, the judgment from above does not govern the world, for the world could not endure it even for a moment.

Rabbi Shimon was both crying and rejoicing. They lifted their eyes and saw five men from those desert wanderers following the elder to ask him to teach them the Torah. They stood up. Rabbi Shimon said, “What is your name?” He said, “Nehorai Saba.” Because there is another Nehorai in our place, they call me Nehorai Saba. Rabbi Shimon and his friends walked with him for three miles. Rabbi Shimon asked the other men, “Why do you follow this way?” They told him, “We have come to see this elder, that he might teach us Torah, for from his water we drink in the desert,” meaning they are his disciples. Rabbi Shimon came and kissed that elder. He said to him, “Nehorai is your name, and you are light, and the light dwells with you.” For Nehorai, it means light.
