Daily Zohar 4613

#118
It is written, “From the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” What did this result in? Adam caused mortality to be in the world. If someone shows improper actions, how much more so will it have an adverse effect? Ox and Donkey will prove this point. From the side of holiness, it is called an ox. From the side of impurity, it is called a donkey. Therefore, it is written,
Deuteronomy 22:10
“You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.”
Do not mix them together, as this would arouse the Other Side to join forces and bring harm to the world. And one who separates them increases peace in the world. Similarly, with wool and linen, one who separates them in the manner described, ensuring they are not spun and woven together, that person increases peace upon themselves and the whole world.

The offering of Cain consisted of flax, which is from the fruit of the ground. The offering of Abel consisted of wool, which is from the firstborn of his flock. One is not like the other. The secret of the matter is this: Cain’s offering was כִּלְאַיִם, of mixed kinds, meaning a mixture of different species, an unnecessary mix, because he was from the other side, not of the same kind as Eve and Adam. His offering came from that side.
On the other hand, Abel was from the same kind as Adam and Eve, that is, from holiness. In the womb of Eve, these two sides—those of mixed kinds—were combined. And because they were combined together, no benefit came from them to the world, and they were lost.

To this day, the power of destruction from the side of Cain and Abel remains. Whoever engages in actions with the aspect of this mixture awakens these elements together, namely the chaotic combination of Cain and Abel, and may bring harm upon themselves. Consequently, a spirit that is not needed may rest upon them.
Israel must strive to awaken a holy spirit upon themselves to be holy so they may find peace in this world and in the world to come.
Lesson;
The Tree of Knowledge represents the mixing of good and evil, which brought mortality into the world through Adam’s sin. This is the consequence of mixing holy and impure elements.
In essence, we learn here that maintaining the separation of holy and impure elements, both in physical actions and spiritual practices, is crucial for promoting peace and preventing harm in the world.
