189. רַבִּי חִזְקִיָּה פָּתַח וְאָמַר, (איוב ט) אַחַת הִיא עַל כֵּן אָמַרְתִּי תָּם וְרָשָׁע הוּא מְכַלֶּה. פָּסוּק זֶה הִתְבָּאֵר בְּסוֹד הַחָכְמָה. אַחַת הִיא, מַה זֶּה אַחַת הִיא? זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב (שיר ו) אַחַת הִיא יוֹנָתִי תַמָּתִי אַחַת הִיא לְאִמָּהּ. וּבָזֶה הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא דָּן דִּינָיו לְמַטָּה, וְדָן דִּינָיו לְמַעְלָה בַּכֹּל.
190. וּכְשֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא מְעוֹרֵר דִּינָיו, הוּא דָּן אֶת דִּינָיו בַּכֶּתֶר הַזֶּה, וְאָז כָּתוּב תָּם וְרָשָׁע הוּא מְכַלֶּה. מִשּׁוּם שֶׁאוֹתָם הַצַּדִּיקִים נִתְפָּסִים בַּחֲטָאֵי הָרְשָׁעִים, שֶׁכָּתוּב וַיֹּאמֶר ה’ לַמַּלְאָךְ הַמַּשְׁחִית בָּעָם רַב וְגוֹ’. וְעַל זֶה אָמַר [ר’ יוֹסֵי] אִיּוֹב אֶת הַדָּבָר הַזֶּה, [אָמַר] וְלֹא פֵרַשׁ אֶת הַדָּבָר, וּפֵרְשׁוּהָ – טֹל הָרַב. רַבִּי יֵיסָא אָמַר, אַחַת הִיא – זוֹ כְּנֶסֶת יִשְׂרָאֵל בְּגָלוּת מִצְרַיִם, שֶׁבִּשְׁבִילָה הָרַג הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בְּמִצְרַיִם וְעָשָׂה בָהֶם נְקָמוֹת. זֶהוּ שֶׁכָּתוּב תָּם וְרָשָׁע הוּא מְכַלֶּה.

Rabbi Chizkiyah opened and said: “אַחַת הִיא עַל כֵּן אָמַרְתִּי תָּם וְרָשָׁע הוּא מְכַלֶּה”—*”It is all one; therefore, I said, He destroys the blameless and the wicked” (Job 9:22). This verse has been explained in the secret of wisdom. What is “אַחַת הִיא”—”It is all one”? It refers to what is written:
“אַחַת הִיא יוֹנָתִי תַמָּתִי אַחַת הִיא לְאִמָּהּ”—*”One is my dove, my perfect one, she is the only one of her mother” (Song of Songs 6:9).
This refers to the Shechinah, the attribute of Malchut, through which the Holy One, Blessed be He, executes judgment below in this world and above in all realms.

When the Holy One, Blessed be He, arouses His judgments, He executes them through this crown, which is Malchut. Then it is written:
“תָּם וְרָשָׁע הוּא מְכַלֶּה”—*”He destroys the blameless and the wicked” (Job 9:22) because the righteous are caught in the sins of the wicked, as it is written:
“וַיֹּאמֶר ה’ לַמַּלְאָךְ הַמַּשְׁחִית בָּעָם רַב”—*”And Hashem said to the destroying angel, ‘Enough!'” (II Samuel 24:16). This means: take the great among them.
Thus, Job said this statement: “He destroys the blameless and the wicked,” though he did not explain that it refers to the righteous being caught because of the sins of the wicked.
Rabbi Yissa said: “אַחַת הִיא”—”It is all one,” refers to the Congregation of Israel in the exile of Egypt, for whose sake the Holy One, Blessed be He, struck Egypt and took vengeance upon them. Thus, it is written: “He destroys the blameless and the wicked,” for even among the Egyptians, there were those who were innocent and had not enslaved Israel, yet they were destroyed together with the wicked.
Notes:
The concept of collective judgment is highlighted, where both the wicked and the righteous can be affected by divine decrees. This principle applied in Egypt, where all suffered due to the enslavement of Israel, emphasizing the far-reaching effects of sin and divine retribution.  (Read Psalm 1 for spiritual support if you are among bad people.)
