Zohar Vayikra

#215
For anyone who is false to the holy sign of the covenant (circumcision, the brit milah) that is inscribed upon him—it is as though he is false to the Name of the King because the Name of the King is inscribed upon a person
in the covenant of circumcision (brit milah). Another verse sheds light on this one, as it is written: “אִם שָׁכַחְנוּ שֵׁם אֱלֹהֵינוּ וַנִּפְרֹשׂ כַּפֵּינוּ לְאֵל זָר” “If we have forgotten the Name of our God and spread out our hands to a foreign god…” (Psalms 44:21) “If we have forgotten the Name of our God”—this corresponds to what is said earlier: “We have not forgotten You.” And the verse “וַנִּפְרֹשׂ כַּפֵּינוּ לְאֵל זָר” “and spread out our hands to a foreign god” corresponds to what was said: “וְלֹא שִׁקַּרְנוּ בִּבְרִיתֶךָ” “Nor have we been false to Your covenant.” All of this is one concept. And what is the falsehood being spoken of here? It is the spreading of one’s hands to a foreign god and being false to the holy sign of the covenant (circumcision,ברית, Brit). Therefore, the Torah clings to this sign—to the Brit— and whoever guards this covenant is as though he guards the entire Torah. And whoever is false to it is as though he has been false to the entire Torah.
Notes:
The brit milah (circumcision) is more than a ritual—it is a living sign of the King’s Name on a person. Forgetting Torah or turning to other powers is equal to being false to that Name. Thus, the Zohar teaches that guarding the covenant is the foundation of spiritual integrity. It is as if one guards the entire Torah. And betrayal of it is a falsehood that severs one from Torah and truth.
This passage emphasizes the unity between Torah, covenant, and the Holy Name—And that our spiritual authenticity depends on keeping that covenant with loyalty and love.
