248. שֶׁבְּאוֹתוֹ זְמַן נֶאֱמַר בְּמֹשֶׁה וּבְיִשְׂרָאֵל (שם נח) אָז תִּתְעַנַּג עַל ה’. בְּעֹנֶג, שֶׁהוּא ע’ עֵדֶן, נ’ נָהָר, ג’ גַּן. וְיִתְקַיֵּם הַכָּתוּב (שמות טו) אָז יָשִׁיר מֹשֶׁה וְגוֹ’. שָׁר לֹא נֶאֱמַר, אֶלָּא יָשִׁיר. וְיִתְהַפֵּךְ לְעֵרֶב רַב עֹנֶ”ג לְנֶגַ”ע, וּלְאֻמּוֹת הָעוֹלָם עוֹבְדֵי עַכּוּ”ם, כְּמוֹ שֶׁפַּרְעֹה וְהַמִּצְרִים שֶׁפָּרַח בָּהֶם שְׁחִין אֲבַעְבּוּעוֹת, אֲבָל לְיִשְׂרָאֵל יִהְיֶה עֹנֶ”ג.
249. וְזֶהוּ וְנָהָר יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן. וּמִשָּׁם יִפָּרֵד וְהָיָה לְאַרְבָּעָה רָאשִׁים, שֶׁהֵם חֶסֶ”ד זְרוֹעַ יָמִין. וּבְאוֹתוֹ זְמַן הָרוֹצֶה לְהַחְכִּים יַדְרִים, וּמַחֲנֵה מִיכָאֵ”ל מְקַבֵּל מִמֶּנּוּ, וְעִמּוֹ מַטֵּה יְהוּדָה וּשְׁנֵי שְׁבָטִים. גְּבוּרָ”ה זְרוֹעַ שְׂמֹאל. וּבְאוֹתוֹ זְמַן הָרוֹצֶה לְהַעֲשִׁיר יַצְפִּין, וּמַחֲנֵה גַבְרִיאֵ”ל מְקַבֵּל מִמֶּנּוּ, וְעִמּוֹ מַטֵּה דָן וּשְׁנֵי שְׁבָטִים. נֶצַ”ח שׁוֹק יָמִין, וּמִמֶּנּוּ מְקַבֵּל מַחֲנֶה שֶׁל נוּרִיאֵ”ל, וְעִמּוֹ מַטֵּה רְאוּבֵן וּשְׁנֵי שְׁבָטִים עִמּוֹ. הוֹ”ד שׁוֹק שְׂמֹאל, שֶׁעָלֶיהָ נֶאֱמַר לְיַעֲקֹב (בראשית לב) וְהוּא צֹלֵעַ עַל יְרֵכוֹ, וּמִמֶּנּוּ מְקַבֵּל מַחֲנֵה רְפָאֵ”ל, שֶׁהוּא מְמֻנֶּה עַל רְפוּאַת הַגָּלוּת, וְעִמּוֹ מַטֵּה אֶפְרַיִם וּשְׁנֵי שְׁבָטִים.

At that time, it is said of Moshe and Israel: “אָז תִּתְעַנֵּג עַל ה'” – “Then you shall delight in Hashem” (Isaiah 58:14), where the word “עונג” (delight) is an acronym: ע stands for “עדן” (Eden),  נ stands for “נהר” (River), ג stands for “גן” (Garden). This means they will delight in those Mochin that descend to them in these three levels: Eden, River, and Garden, which correspond to the Mochin of Supernal Chokhmah, for Binah is not called Eden unless she receives from Chokhmah. And then will be fulfilled the verse: “אָז יָשִׁיר מֹשֶׁה” – “Then Moshe will sing” (Exodus 15:1) – it does not say “Then Moshe sang” but “will sing”, in the future tense, indicating the time of the future redemption, when Moshe will sing a new song. But for the Erev Rav and the idol-worshiping nations, this delight (עונג) will be reversed into a plague (נגע) – just as Pharaoh and the Egyptians were afflicted with boils and blisters, so too will they suffer then. But for Israel alone, it will be delight (עונג). That is, these same Mochin of Eden, River, and Garden will become a delight to Israel and striking plagues to the Erev Rav and idolators.

And this is the meaning of: ”וְנָהָר יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן וּמִשָּׁם יִפָּרֵד וְהָיָה לְאַרְבָּעָה רָאשִׁים.” “And a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it was parted and became four heads” (Genesis 2:10). These four heads correspond to the four sefirot: Chessed, Gevurah, Netzach, and Hod, which align with the four banners (דגלים) of the tribes in the desert.
Chessed is the right arm, and at that time the verse will be fulfilled: “He who wishes to become wise, let him turn southward” – meaning, whoever desires wisdom should direct their prayer toward the sefirah of Chessed, which is in the south, and draw down wisdom to become wise. The camp of the angel Michael receives from Chessed, together with the tribe of Judah and its two companion tribes. Gevurah is the left arm, and the verse will be fulfilled: “He who wishes to become wealthy, let him turn northward” – meaning, he should direct his prayer to the sefirah of Gevurah, which is in the north. The camp of the angel Gabriel receives from Gevurah, together with the tribe of Dan and its two companion tribes. Netzach is the right thigh, from which the camp of the angel Nuriel receives, along with the tribe of Reuven and its two companion tribes. Hod is the left thigh, of which it is said about Jacob: “And he limped upon his thigh” (Genesis 32:32), and from it receives the camp of the angel Raphael, who is appointed over healing in exile. These are the four heads mentioned in the verse, and they correspond to the twelve tribes aligned under the four banners. The Garden, which is the Shechinah, completes them as the thirteenth aspect, as it is written earlier: “But for Israel, there shall be עונג (‘oneg’, delight),” and this is the river that “went out,” which relates to the secret of the thirteen, which is the delight (עונג), as is known.
Notes:
The whole system of the divine flow, which will be restored at the final redemption, will bring both wisdom and wealth to Israel and complete spiritual harmony.
