The Mezuzot that we put on our door posts have the power to remove death. The word מזזות has the letters of זז מות, meaning moving away death.

The door and gate posts are the aspect of the gate that brings the light from the upper three Sefirot to the lower seven. The home is the dwelling place of the Shechina and we should protect it with the holy name שדי that is the force at the supernal gates.

The right and left sides of the gates are the aspect of Netzach and Hod and the passage in the middle is Yessod. To keep the protection, there should be only truth in the home. With that, we block the negativity from entering. Outside is the aspect of Malchut of the other side and inside is the place for the light and the Shechina. If there is any negativity inside the home it creates affinity with the outside negativity and the protection of the Mezuzah weakens.
