Daily Zohar # 5236 – Beresheet – Her feet go down to death
Daily Zohar 5236

#435
“And from the fruit of the tree” — this is the woman, that is the Nukva of Zeir Anpin. And what is written, “you shall not eat from it,” is because it is written, “רַגְלֶיהָ יֹרְדוֹת מָוֶת” “Her feet go down to death” (Proverbs 5:5). For the feet of the Nukva go down to the Klipot where death is, that is, if one draws flow from her alone when she is not in union with her Husband. And one should not say that the Tree of Knowledge is the Other Side and is not the holy Nukva, for in the Nukva of Zeir Anpin there are fruits, and it is possible to say about her “and from the fruit of the tree.” But in the Other Side there are no fruits, for “another god is sterile and does not make fruit.” And how does the verse say about it, “and from the fruit of the tree” And because it is written, “for on the day you eat from it you shall surely die,” therefore the tree is called the tree of death, even though she is the holy Nukva, as we have said that about her it is written “Her feet go down to death,” even though she herself is holy life.
Notes:
The prohibition concerns drawing from the Nukva alone, without uniting her with Zeir Anpin. When separated, her lower aspects reach the Klipot of death. The Tree of Knowledge is the holy Nukva, for only she has fruits; the Other Side is barren.

Rabbi Yossi said, This tree that we have spoken of, that is the Tree of Knowledge, was watered from above and grew and was joyful, as it is written, “וְנָהָר יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת הַגָּן” “And a river went out from Eden to water the garden” (Genesis 2:10). The garden means the Nukva of Zeir Anpin, and this river, that is Binah, enters into the Nukva and waters her, that is, pours into her the Mochin of greatness (גדלות), and everything becomes one. That is, through these Mochin Zeir Anpin and Nukva become one. For from there and below, that is below the Nukva of Zeir Anpin, there is already separation, and they cannot receive these Mochin, as it is written, “וּמִשָּׁם יִפָּרֵד” “and from there it was divided…” (Genesis 2:10). For below the garden it is already separated and is not entirely divinity, for the aspects of nefesh and ruach of Beriah-Yetzirah-Asiyah that are beneath the Nukva are not divinity, as is known.
Notes:
The river from Eden (Binah) waters the garden (Nukva), giving her the Mochin of greatness that unites her with Zeir Anpin. Below the Nukva, the flow divides and enters the lower worlds, which are no longer pure divinity.
