Daily Zohar # 5241 – Beresheet – The roots of idolatry, bloodshed, and sexual immorality
Daily Zohar 5241

#445
Because in it all these commandments are held. For whoever takes the Tree of Knowledge, that is the Nukva alone without her Husband Zeir Anpin, makes a separation between Zeir Anpin and the Nukva. And it is found that he takes her so that she will pour forth to the multitudes below, in Beriah-Yetzirah-Asiyah (the worlds of Creation, Formation, Action) of separation, where the Klipot are, which cling to the Tree of Knowledge. And by this he takes upon himself the prohibitions of idolatry, spilling of blood, and sexual immorality.
He transgresses idolatry through those appointed (ממונים, Ministers) princes to whom he drew the flow from the Tree of Knowledge, and it is found that he serves the appointed ones, which is idolatry.
He transgresses spilling of blood because in this tree hang the forces of spilling of blood, for it is on the left side which is Gevurah, and Sam-el the prince of Esau is appointed over this.
He transgresses sexual immorality because the Tree of Knowledge is a woman and is called a woman (אִשָּׁה), that is the Nukva of Zeir Anpin, and it is forbidden to invite a woman alone, but only together with her Husband, so that he will not be suspected of sexual immorality. And the sin of the Tree of Knowledge is that he took the Nukva alone without her Husband (as above in #433). And therefore in all the seven commandments he was commanded concerning the prohibition of this tree of the Tree of Knowledge. Once he ate from it, he transgressed in all of them, for all of them cling to it.
Notes:
Taking the Nukva alone, without uniting her with Zeir Anpin, separates them and channels her flow into the worlds of separation where the Klipot cling. This single act includes the roots of idolatry, bloodshed, and sexual immorality, which is why all seven commandments are bound to the Tree of Knowledge.
#446
Rabbi Yehuda said, Certainly this matter, that is the prohibition of the Tree of Knowledge, is so, for it is forbidden to be alone with a woman unless her Husband is with her. What did that wicked one do, that is Sam-el? He said, See, I have touched this tree, and I have not died; you too come close and touch it with your hand, and you will not die. And this matter he added from himself, for the prohibition was not on touching, but only on eating.
Notes:
The prohibition of the Tree of Knowledge is like the law that one may not be alone with a woman without her Husband. Sam-el added a lie of his own by claiming that even touching the tree was forbidden and that he had touched it without dying, thereby drawing Eve into the sin.
